Are you for real?
"Get rid of him" and three go to Fisher who struggles with one.

There's always someone who says "get rid of him" without any further plan.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story Melvey.

Didn't Fev also say he loved Carlton and wanted to play out his entire career with the Club?

Doesn't exactly give his management all the "power"?

I am not a fan of trading him but the further plan is that you spread the work load between 3 or 4 players and the players up the field understand that their are 3 or 4 options. You do become less predictable. For us to become a powerful side Fev can't be 30 goals ahead of the next Carlton goal kicker by Round 9.

According to Ian Coutts the 4 year deal thing is not true.

They said that they have not offerred any contract yet as his management is not yet finalised. They will do so in the next couple of weeks. Besides they dont want to discuss details through the media he said.

Ratten said because its Fev the media want to say things, he said no-one is talking about negotiations with Murphy or Fisher but because its Fev they need to make an issue out of it.

He is anxious to get the deal done though and move on.

Well the media might not be interested in my Smurph's contract negotiations, but I AM!

Always a bit of theatre before deals are done....I'd expect Fev to sign after his management try and get his price and contract length up, thats their job.
Dick Pratt always get his man so its a done deal IMHO......

Carlton please consider Hamill and St.Kilda before signing a long term deal.

Carlton will have a player who doesn't give a flying toss and injured for most of it. Fev is now at his peak and will be on the decline in his new contract.

3 years??? IMFG - we are stupid when it comes to resigning players. We should be in the box seat not Fev. Fev is looking for a pension contract.

I would rather Hamill at his best than Fev at his best any day. Hamill would bleed and hurt for his team mates. Fev abuses his team mates.

You are all getting sucked in on the hype that Fevola brings. All of you, yes all of you.

Hamill really bleed for his teammates, he left at the first sign of an offer elsewhere. Meanwhile, Fev really does want to stay. So from here I'll totally ignore your totally ill-considered opinion. So excuse me while I laugh.

By the way, when a player such as Fev is out of contact he holds the aces or he has the choice of walking for nothing. Lucky for us Fev loves the club, wants to and will stay with a nice, big 3yr contract.

Hamill walked out on his original team mates for money. Fev has publically said he wants to stay at Carlton.

According to CH10 news Fev himself has publically said at a recent function that he has rejected a 3 year offer.

Abuses his team mates? From what I saw, in the years when we really lacked leadership from a mature group of senior players, it was Fev who would be encouraging players in their first few games, fev who would intervened when they were getting pushed around.

He may get frustrated when the disposal isn't pinpoint, but who can really blame him. And he has toned this down. Perhaps we should listen to you and offer him a two year deal. So he comes out of contract when the Gold Coast franchise can pluck players and we lose him for nothing.

same.

we'll never win a flag with fev in the side. take off the rose coloured glasses. he is a selfish player and if he hasn't bagged atleast 5, he couldn't give a shit. his good is the best in the competition, but his bad is real bad.

our forward structure will never work with him in the side. he demands the ball when 3 players are on him and i think the rest of the team is either scared into or instructed to kick it to him, either way, get a few good picks for him and piss him off.

You obviously didn't see his chase and tacke on Saturday then? He had only kicked 1 goal, had a dirty day, but still worked hard.

Judge him on what he is doing now.

The point that budzy raised about Fev actually making the comment about rejecting a 3 year deal is an interesting one, as it usually doesn't fall to a player to make those types of comments but rather their managers.

Maybe Fev is holding the fort on contract negotiations thru the media while his management team gets confirmed.

Either way, he needs to be careful that he isn't being too arrogant.
