Could it be his management have decided to play hardball when the likes of Richard Pratt and Greg Swann have come out and made it clear we want Fev. Now all of a sudden Lynch and co hold the power. You want him come and get him

Agree Melvey... Pratt shouldnt have said whatever he said about ' we must sign Fev ' or whatever it was along those lines.
Now Fev and his management think they can hold us to ransom... like someone said earlier... we dont owe Fev , HE OWES THE CLUB

Don't negotiations usually start out with an ambit claim?

Don't forget what the Eagles asked for initially to trade Judd.

"No.1 pick or you don't get him"...or something along those lines.

Last I heard, we picked up Kruezer with the No.1 pick and we still got Judd.

Given Lynch signed a 10 year contract with the Bears, I am surprised he has only put forward a 4 year contract for Fev.

Don't worry guys, it's called negotiation, it happens with all financial contracts of this size. What did you all think, we'd say "Hey Fev, this is what we think we should pay you and for how long", and Fev would say straight away "Sure, where do I sign?", even the public perception of Simple Fev is not THAT simple.

Fev will take the 3 year deal because his currency is high NOW. His management will strike whilst the iron is hot because all it will take to blow the deal will be another moment of weakness and a CCTV camera. The veteran status will be tempting because it will allow him to earn more $$

Fevola was sighted last sunday morning at 6.30am in an intoxicated condition along King Street- believe or dont believe it, but it's true. I am very dubious about this upcoming contract and he as an individual. Off the piss my ass.

Seriously if this guy is going to start being a smarta** about this and wanting 4 years then honestly get rid of him.
He owes us after all the issues he has caused us... accept a 3 year deal no doubt it will be for very good money and just be happy that your playing for this great club. He ISNT bigger than the club and i really hope that people are just stirring the pot.
Hey if we get to the end of the season and he hasnt signed, he can just go in the preseason draft and someone can get him and we get nothing huh?

h43 you're more clever that I realised...
As if Fev's manager would be driving this... really.

Exactly.

Three things;

1) Swann knows what he's doing

2) Fev loves the club and any offer from Carlton would have to be miles off another offer for him to contemplate leaving.

3) Swann knows what he's doing

This will get sorted out and he will be at Carlton next year and beyond on a fair deal.

Hardly!

It's a massive issue in terms of 'list management' over the next 4 years. Huge ramifications either way...

same.

we'll never win a flag with fev in the side. take off the rose coloured glasses. he is a selfish player and if he hasn't bagged atleast 5, he couldn't give a shit. his good is the best in the competition, but his bad is real bad.

our forward structure will never work with him in the side. he demands the ball when 3 players are on him and i think the rest of the team is either scared into or instructed to kick it to him, either way, get a few good picks for him and piss him off.

Calm down everyone .. fev isn't going anywhere, we are just starting look like we are improving as a team and he doesn't want to miss that, no way known.

I'd be surprised if any negotiations were agreed upon first up. As another poster said .. please carlton keep this private!
