Just heard this on Nightline - Carlton offered Fev a 3 year deal to tie him up
early, only to have his management reject the offer.

I may have misheard this next bit, they mentioned a 4 year offer - i'm not sure if that is what Fev's management is holding out for, but 4 years was definitely mentioned, in what context I don't know.

(Anyone else watching Nightline care to fill in the gaps? Don't worry, I won't mention the fact the 'Girls of the Playboy Mansion' was on directly beforehand... )

News thing ended with them saying that the contract talks with Fev have now been put on the backburner until closer to the end of the season.

Was mentioned on 3AW sports show.

Fev's management (apparently Alistair Lynch) has rejected 3 year deal.

Who does Fev he think he is asking for more than three years? :?

His marriage last less than that.

Just the first move in what will no doubt be heated negotiation. Nothing to worry about at all but I hope it's played out behind closed doors and not on the back pages.

In Swann we trust.

All that article says to me is that Fev will be offered 3 years and WCE will be offered our first round pick for Kerr.

Fev wil NOT, repeat NOT move to the Gold Coast or Western Sydney fanchises. He has spent his entire career at the bottom of the ladder and will not jump off a rising team back to the bottom for a dollar. If he was to go anywhere it will be in a team that is in the premiership window or close to it.

Lynchy has obviously read the text book on player management...

Fev might change his tune if we lump a seven-figure base salary into that third year. We could go 1.5mil with his veteran status... He won't get that straight up in the NFL - and I doubt that he's got the right attitude to take a back seat over there.

Three with an option of a fourth. The option would be exercised if he met stringent behavioural conditions... Fev's history would suggest that he is every chance of blowing that option the night after he signs the bottom line

Todays Herald Sun article was totally different. Who to believe?

One thing I learned during the Judd saga, is that you cannot believe the media. . They were so adament Judd was going to Melbourne and then Collingwood. I learned not to believe them.

It would be good is someone comes out today and disputes that he rejected the 3 year offer. Nice to hear from Fev himself as well.

Seriously if this guy is going to start being a smarta** about this and wanting 4 years then honestly get rid of him.
He owes us after all the issues he has caused us... accept a 3 year deal no doubt it will be for very good money and just be happy that your playing for this great club. He ISNT bigger than the club and i really hope that people are just stirring the pot.
Hey if we get to the end of the season and he hasnt signed, he can just go in the preseason draft and someone can get him and we get nothing huh?

Synbad, so is it true that he has rejected the 3 year deal, as I dont believe he would do that.........

If anything it would be his management trying us out.

Have my house on the market
First offer was 45000 short
Its called playing the game
Unfortunately pragmatism rules over idealism
It will be maximum 3 years
Perhaps his manager should consult the Waklin twins for some consulting :-D

Let's hope it wasn't written by David Allison.

I reckon we need to take a bloody stand, I accept this is early days and nothing to get worried about, but we don't owe Fev anything. ;)

If Lynch is as good at managing is he is at TV commentary, we'll get Fev for ten years - on commission....
