OK, Ive waited long enough for someone to bring this up, but its almost a criminal act on this website to bring up anything about Judd which isnt positive.
I love the bloke, his disposal is all class, but I think he shouldnt be playing, he looks very very sore, he is slower than he has been in the last few weeks, he cant lay a tackle, and his kicks for goal today showed that he is struggling.
Is there anyone here connected to the club who may know the real status of Judds groin? Is he playing with the groin injury which hampered him last year?
To me it looks like he is, and the last couple of weeks its been showingmore than when he started for us. If hes not fit he should be rested, remember how West Coast played him all of last year with injury, it did him a lot of harm.
I just think he shouldnt be forced to play if hes carrying an injury, he is a massive investment and Id rather he be rested for a few matches cause realistically IMO we wont make the 8 as we havent been very convincing in our wins, which have been against the bottom 3 (apart from Collingwood where we were convincing), so I dont see a point in making him play with injury and potentially harming him for the long term.
there were rumours after the melbourne game that he might have pulled up a bit sore. and since then, he hasn't looked as good as he did in that game. yesterday, when he failed to make the distance from 40m with those two set shots i was even more convinced that he isn't right to be playing. i think we need to give him a good 3-4 week break and see how the rest of the team respond to the change. it'll definitely keep everyone else on their toes and working as hard as they can.
i think the one positive for judd's individual game this year will be that he is taking his inside game and clearance game to a new level. he is being forced to compete against 3 or 4 players for every touch he gets. next year, when he gets the power back in his legs and core added to all the experience he's had this year further improving his inside game he will be unstoppable, hoepfully even better than what he was at west coast.
