Even at West Coast he was a poor set shot on goal. Much better on the run. jake_h03 is spot on;

I think its not a taboo topic, and if risk of further injury is minimal, good to have him out there.

They have changed his role to suit his current fitness, and his clearance work has been brilliant. We havent had anyone as good in that area since the days of Ratts and Kouta circa 2001.

there were rumours after the melbourne game that he might have pulled up a bit sore. and since then, he hasn't looked as good as he did in that game. yesterday, when he failed to make the distance from 40m with those two set shots i was even more convinced that he isn't right to be playing. i think we need to give him a good 3-4 week break and see how the rest of the team respond to the change. it'll definitely keep everyone else on their toes and working as hard as they can.

i think the one positive for judd's individual game this year will be that he is taking his inside game and clearance game to a new level. he is being forced to compete against 3 or 4 players for every touch he gets. next year, when he gets the power back in his legs and core added to all the experience he's had this year further improving his inside game he will be unstoppable, hoepfully even better than what he was at west coast.

I watched the game on TV and Juddy definitely looked as if he was playing under some distress.

He was brought down in a tackle where he was paid a free kick for in the back i think, when he got on one leg to push himself up he made this distressed strained look on his face even the commentators kinda went oow.

No. Its a strength and flexibility issue and for Juddy to get the full range of movement and maximum power, he needs to condition the affected area under the regular circumstances.

I think as long as he is not doing any further damage to himself then he should be managed through the year. he still manages moments of absolute brilliance & he will continue to take the no. 1 tagger & leave our other midfielders to run free. Stevo must have been rapt to not have to play on Crowley yesterday!

yes but at least he was confident enough to kick through the ball, judd was just stabbing at it.

like i mentioned before Fev said on MMM after the game that he had a sore back during the week. Maybe this is the reason why he struggled with his kicking

that's because he's been forced to. liek i said, it's the one positive he can take out from this year. because he hasn't got the strenghth in his legs and core that he normally does it forces to him to become much more of an inside player. next year, when he gets back his strength and speed and adds it to the inside game which he has taken to a new level this year he will be unstoppable. best inside player in the comp and best outside player.

Right, so the consensus is

1. He's not 100%
2. In spite of that, he's still a very effective and valuable player
3. As long as he is not doing any more damage or delaying his overall recovery by playing, then he should continue to do so.

I only hope that, in the case of 3, the club has at least three seperate medical opinions to back up the decision to keep playing him because it is completely counterintuitive that he'll make a full recovery by "playing through it".

And I certainly hope he's not playing purely based on the advice of the same guy who signed off on Hadley - and other clearly unfit players - resuming.

i'd rest him against the cats (if needed) sometimes teams can lift when stars miss and imagine the boost in confidence and belief for our players if we take it up to the cats with out the juddsta

Believe it or not and someone please correct me if im wrong, his first set shot at goal for carlton in the Richmond game where he went goaless on debut, was no more then 30m out... missed. 2nd .. missed. So I can safely say his set shot for goal is akin to that of a young Bradly Fisher
