Thought AB was great. Tough, hard, strong and got the ball off to team mates much better ... a bit of Deisel/Judd influence catching on maybe. :-D

Best I've seen Grigg this year. That's the second time he's really lifted when we've been down. Consistancy and his right side is what he needs to improve on to be a gun.

Wiggo again played an important part at crucial times. Still needs to make more of an impact on the scoreboard.

Setanta had one or two howlers but overall competed well with Pav. Back him Ratts FFS!!!

Stevo played russian roullette a few times and got away with it.

Fish was good needs to continue to have more scoreboard impact.

Murph has it all except consistancy in disposal.

Gibbsy & Browney do some magical things at times. Guns of the future.

Pfeiff & Eddie have the skill, desperation and intensity to be great forwards who can impact as midfielders as well.

The Fev was sensational with some of his chasing and tackling.

Love watching MattyK and hammer working in tandem.

Pros;

Effort and intensity

Grigg and Bower

I was in favour of dropping Setanta going in, but he was good yesterday and should be left down back. Yesterday's effort sealed it for me.

Kreuz and Hammer worked hard

Fish and Jake presented well and between them offered an alternative

Fev's goal

Stevo was superb.

Cons;

Decision making and execution of F50 entries was some of the worst I have seen. Murph and Waite major culprits.

Fev's getting smashed because we are taking so long to get the ball past the wing so often - when teams shift back against us, the first thing they do sit is 1-2 in front of Fev. We are letting them do it by constantly looking sideways for an easy option. Stevo tried to straighten them up when he got it in the middle, but the youngsters aren't lifting their eyes.

Some poor execution generally around the ground.

Should have put them away in the first half.

We're going to run into a very angry Geelong next week

Overall can't fault the effort and it's good to see the boys winning the games they should win now. As it's turned out, we've got a fairly tough draw with only playing Freo, WC and Melbourne once. This will stand us in good stead for the future.

Pro:
- O'Hailpin played very well in defence
- Bentick played very well as an in and under in the middle
- Pfeifer continues to impress. He could and should play forward with Fish and Fev - they could each play out of the forward line and negate our lack of a chf.

Great last quarter goal though. May struggle for a game time when all our players are back.

Pros
Tackled, tackled, tackled- cannot underestimate the importance of applying the pressure when needed. We killed them in the last 14mins of the game, which was highlighted by the numberof tackles laid.

Sticking it up the diver Pavlova and Carrots taking Farmer pig to the cleaners. Carrots goal in the last, was kicked without the Jesus Christ Superstar antics that seems to be a feature of the Famer pig and Pavlova. He kicked it and then went back to the backline.

The game wasn't over for him.

Cons
F50 focus other than Fev. I saw Edwards up the ground too many times near our D50. Not sure what his instructions were but when you take a stroll out of the forward line, your player, tends to keep Fev company.

Holding the ball interpretation changes from week to week.

Another con was Triple M's BS commentary, which I listened to whilst at the game.

BT HATES CARLTON. Actually slated Fev for a dummy spit for a pass that missed him in the 3rd quarter. Fev had no reaction at all, but it makes "good radio" to make up shit.

Also Garry Lyon and others got into Fev for his goal off the ground. Apparently it was "selfish" as he should have "looked inboard".

FFS these blokes hate Carlton.

I agree. I have been critical of his disposal for the last couple of years. A significant issue for him which is why we will struggle when we have a full list available. I see Browne eventually taking his place, tough hard and better skill level.

my first thought was selfish on that play too by fev

he had 2 players inboard but decided to tap the ball outside to his own advantage

if that goal hadn't have come off it would be a different story

Palmer destroyed us all game up there today.

Palmer destroyed us did he? He was on Bentick. I'd say we won that battle

It's easy to get some touches if you don't mind your usually second rate opponent getting 31.

Sometimes in footy, you let the stars have a stab at brilliance. Without it, there would be no Jezza, Buzz, Blight Daicos, Ablett etc. It was arsey, but instinctive. I don't think that getting the ball to Murphy would have created a goal.

My point though was that Triple M didn't look at the entire scene, it was just an excuse to slate Fev. A guy that they are supposedly mates with

I must have been watching the other game Carrazzo was one of our best players with Ratten in his press conference praising his work on Farmer
Farmer usually destroys us - Carrazzo had him on the leash apart from some dubious free when Farmer staged
Kicked 55 meter goal in the last
Didnt play well against Brisbane but was good yesterday

PROS:-

- WE WON (always a pro)

- Setanta
Proved alot of people wrong and gave a top notch performance. The Irish Experiment is nowhere near a failure. Great game.

- Jake Edwards
Thought he had a good game, taking 8 or so marks.

- Carrazzo.
I know i give him a lot of flack cause of his disposal skills but he had a great game on Farmer. I like this role for Carrazzo.

- Fev's tackle........
no doubt lifted the boys!

- Fev's goal
GOTY?

- Eddie Betts
Awesome game from somebody who has his fair share of critics too.

CONS"-

- Disposal.
Jesus. What the hell is going on? Can anybody kick the frigen ball properly?

- Forward set up.
Or lack-there-of.

- OVERPOSESSING!
For god sake..... get rid of the flower ball all ready.

- Still playing the flanks.
I hate this. We seem to go there way to often and i'm not sold on it (but i'm willing to hear the thoughts from others.)

QFT - I don't know if I laughed more at the Palmer comment or the misinterpretation!!

Um...Carrots listed as 21 possies, 90% effectiveness, 1 clanger...gave Farmer a bath..was excellent today, been very good in a different role this year IMO. Remember, he won the B&F as a tough ball winning midfielder.

I must have watched a different game also as I thought he was one of our best and made very few mistakes.
