1. Murphy
2. Gibbs
3. Kruezer
4. Walker
5. 1st 2008 Draftee

I think Murphy is the best no.1 pick since Luke Hodge with the best in-traffic vision at Carlton since Deisel.
Gibbs just oozes class and as he spends more time in the middle, will become one of the competition's elite.
Kruezer will dominate through skill and work ethic as much as any ruckman has in the last 20 years, with the possible exception of Cox. I can't remember a ruckman dominating for more than 5yrs in that time.
Walker still could be anything. I think he will blossom under Ratts.
It's hard to believe how few games Jamo has played and looking forward to watching him develop more. Have liked Bower since watching him in the VFL.
However, I think our next (likely top 10) draft pick will take that next spot. Supposed to be a good draft.

(Would have had Kennedy in that spot...)

1. Murph
2. Kreuz
3. Walker
4. Jamo
5. Gibbs

If we have to take Walker out, Bower slots into 5.

Browne and Hammer on the 'honorable mentions' list.

Actually looks spot on to me

I don't think Kreuz can be ahead of Murph.. Or Gibbs for that matter.. Not yet anyway, has a long way to go
And can't anyone rememver the last half of Walker's 2007?
He could be the best of all for the second half of 2008 IMO

that was no indication on how walker will turn out as a player. he clearly should not have been out there but probably due to his own insistence kept on playing despite having a crook shoulder. maybe if he hadn't done that, we'd have seen him playing for us now. the only thing you can take out of the last half of walker's year is how deperate he is to play. his first half of the year was looking very promising. i've got no doubt given a full pre-season he will make his mark in the afl next year and become one of the best players.

 misunderstanding. I was saying how good I thought Walks was gettin last year, and I think he will go nuts when he comes back and rise to the elite level that we know he can

 well if you thought he played good in the last half of last year, now it's made even better because he had a crook shoulder to contend with! :-D

The terms "collingwood supporters" and "don't understand" go together like peas and carrots.

5. Hampson

Honourable mention to Jamison. I rated Hampson above Jamison because if we develop him right, he could be unbeatable. Combine his raw athleticism and infinite scope for improvement with a bit of luck and astute management, and we could have one of the best ruck duos ever. The two differing styles of Hampson and Kreuzer make it even more mouth-watering. I'm not one to alliterate, but the words "dynamic duo" spring to mind.

This is the order for who will be the best of our current crop of 22yo and under throught their career (baring any major injuries)

(1) Kruezer .... he will win a brownlow
(2) Murphy .... Also a chance to win chaz
(3) Anderson (if he doesn't become injury prone .. has the 'x' factor)
(4) Gibbs
(5) Walker
(6) Bower
(7) Hampson
(8) Browne
(9) Jamison
(10) Betts

possibles to jump in the top ten is Pfiffer, Armfield and Ellard.

If you are looking for there current standing...

(1) Smurph
(2) Kruezer - provides something in our miserable ruck and kicks goals
(3) Walker - going on past performances
(4) Gibbs
(5) Jamo

Coming up with a bullet.... Betts and Bower.

2. Walker (how can any1 forget how good this guy is???)
3. Kruzer (bloody exciting)
4. Jamo (couldnt ask for more)
5. Gibbs (just gets in even though hasnt really shown much, i expect more from a number 1 pick)

Slightly off the topic, another site had a rumour that Murphys contract negotiations have stalled as he is asking for $450K. And if they cannot get him signed they will use him to trade for Kerr.

Can anyone shed anything ? Got a little worried reading this.

Id just relax mate. Murphy is going no where and is not asking for $450K. thats just a rediculous rumour. Murphy at the present understands that his value is about 300K per year and is hoping to get somewhere near that.

Murphy will not be going anywhere, does not want to be anywhere else , absolutely loves the club and the boys and will definately not be traded to West Coast.

Murphy will be a Carlton man for the rest of his career. Trust me

Marc isn't that sort of kid. He loves the club and he know the club will look after him.

Besides, i would prefer to pay Murphy $450k then Kerr $1M. Some WC supporters have nothing better to do.

Murph will finish his career at Carlton.

P.S. If Mike Sheehan doesn't have Murphy ahead of Thomas and Pendleberry in his midyear top 50 then something is seriously flowered.

Whilst I find that very hard to believe, that was the culture at Carlton when he started his career, so...
