That's why Carrazzo has let himself go these past four years.

Imagine how good he'd be with some leadership?

That's why I think it's insignificant...and more to the point, I'd be worried if our players didn't have the intrinsic motivation to be the best they can be, but I'm pretty sure they do. At least those that matter do.

Stevo's leadership in the 3rd and 4th quarters against the WCE a couple of weeks ago was superb. He had as much to do with us getting over the line there as anyone.

He's doing fine.

A few on this thread have correctly read between the lines of Steven's comments. It is clear why he was not given the captaincy.

He tries to justify why he has not not been consistent in his application by blaming his injuries: he tries to justify why has been heavy on the drink by saying that "Carlton was known as a party team: he questions why he was not given the captaincy ("I got just as many votes in the leadership voting ")

Stevens could not help himself. Through his quoted comments it seems to me that 'Stevens is all about Stevens'.

I could see his beer belly tonight.

Unfortunately I couldn't see the piece of his body they took out of him, from below his waist, which was put into his neck.

Damn shame that.

His beer gut.

I couldn't see the part of his body that was surgically removed from below his waist and surgically placed into his neck though. That sort of thing isn't as newsworthy as a beer gut I suppose.

Stevens has an excuse for being over weight
What a joke
Over sensitive

With more games in him he has got better

My biggest beef with him is
He is soft

Last night he had the option again of taking the hit and put in the short steps
Brown at CHF

What excuse will he give

I would pick Stevens based on his peformance and the quality of our list.

You know what you are going to get from him
He is a beautiful kick
But his selfish comments in the press sums up how he plays

He has no defensive side to his game and tonight another softcock in Johnstone towelled him up.

IMO Stevens doesnt really bleed for the team.

That pathetic effort to move in front of Brown is a reason why Stevens will only ever be a B grader...

Sure its easy for us to comment from the stands... but youre paid money to perform feats that us in the stands arent performing...

When its your turn to go... you just gotta go...

I thought he was lazy last night...

His face showed he wanted it... his body didnt....

Too often he made haf attempts to trek back.. or tackle...and he was going wide..

The ferocity of a hard footy side with a sense of aggression was too much for Stevens to play against last night.
I would have thought he would have lost an eyeball to make sure he put in a ripper for his 200th....

Same shit every year, we win a couple of games and the feel good stories and back patting start. The players walk out there and expect it to happen for them and forget that it's the tackling and pressure that got them the wins. For once I'd like to see a Carlton fluff piece after the players have actually achieved something to talk about.

The problem is we get let down by senior players more than we get let down by kids.

Its ok for Stevo to call up Andrew Maher during the week and give him an earfull about Mahers observations as a Carlton supporter....

.. but then he comes out and proves Maher was right....!!!

Blokes like Stevens Ackland Waite have got to learn that theyre senior players and they must pave the way for kids...

Some of them wait for others (usually kids) to make things happen for them.....

Its the disease that was allowed to fester under Pagan with our senior group.

...... it needs to be addressed!!!

There are NO passengers in good sides... especially those with 100 games under their belts..

Not that there's many of them...Stevens, Judd, Fevola and Scotland. That was it.

Judds carrying an ankle..Fev did ok.. Scotand did ok... Stevens must stand up too if there aint many of them... cos he has just taken away 25% of the "not many of them"

Waite was just lazy.... how many has he played 95ish???? So he doesnt count??
