Despite sometimes playing a bit of tempo football, it seems to me like we're running / bouncing with the ball more than in the past. The addition of Judd and the arrival of Bower plus the run from deeper in defence of Waite seems to have added a lot of running power. Simmo of course always had this ability.

Is there a stats site that tracks this for year on year comparison?

its due to the more keeping's off and non contested brand of footy we are playing. If you watch the eagles game again when they went one on one they got back into the match, same goes with the demons until juddy set us alight.

Ratten has changed the game-plan to be higher posession. We don't bomb it long quite like we used to, we carry the ball more, especially from the back-half. Walker will be the king of this game plan with his pace.

you got a problem girlfriend mmm hmmm!!!!

Besides the collingwood where we played hard contested style of footy most other games have been keeping's off tempo style.

We had a shoot out with the tigers, bombers and the eagles. Melbourne continually played lose players down back but when they went one on one challenged us in the second same goes with the eagles in the third, they went one on one.

The two games where we played contested footy were against sides two sides who force you to play that way.

Yippiyo-Ay lame dane.

I feel our game plan is reminicent of the 1990s style we played. More emphasis on posession, than the bomb it long to Fev 3 on 1 of Pagan.

I think we have the mix about right, more importantly, we now have players capable of pulling it off.

its funny - pagan was called a dinosaur and his gameplan was outdated

now people are saying we are playing like we did in the 90s and loving it

and others are calling for us to kick longer ala pagan

nothing against anyone - i just find it funny

ps i hated pagan

If we are playing keepings off, and we are running and bouncing the ball more, it's safe to say that the other team isn't playing one on one with us.

Are you suggesting that we are not running and bouncing the ball more or what? I'm confused with your response in relation to the question that was raised by Molsey.

Stats I have from pro-stats (have not got 2007)

Bounces per game

2002 10.1
2003 13.3
2004 16.0
2005 16.6
2006 22.7

2008 19.0

So this year is high compared to the last 6 or 7 years but not compared to 2006.
