The new CFC logo is starting to grow on me.

I actually almost like it. Well, that is to say, I don't hate it.

I still much prefer the notched one, but I really don't mind the newer one.

Thought you'd all like to know.

The newer logo is sans serifs, whereas the previous version has serifs.

There's still no logo like the even older one (think last premiership / AVCO days).....for some of us elderly folks :-D

No, the new one is still a serif font. Serifs are the lines perpendicular to the main lines of the characters.

Serif font: (Serifs highlighted in red)

The difference is that the "old" one is a direct lift from the official logo of the Carlton Football Club, and has "notches" at the back of the "C"s. The current one doesn't.

The F has serifs. The C's don't.

Yes, they do. They're very stylised, but they are there.

I'm a big fan of the newest logo, its classic.

The '70's logo, whilst near and dear looks dated.

We are Carlton @#$%&! the rest!

I associate this logo and all others ( from 1998 onwards) with one losing Grand Final and 3 WOODEN SPOONS!!!!
Dated or not, the REAL MONOGRAM was a symbol of success.

I personally don't think the logo on their breast enters the players' thoughts when they take to the field, three wooden spoons has more to do with having a crappy team than what they were wearing.

Amarmi or Zegna? Cuffs or Not? Wool or Silk? Saddle Stitch or Pegged? FFS....Choices, Choices, Choices!!!! :?

The only thing I care about is the colours. As long as they don't try and change that on us. It has to be Navy Blue with a White CFC Monogram, the material or font doesn't matter. We are the Navy Blues!!! 8)

They wouldn't dare try to make us wear any thing else would they?

Wait, there is a team that plays in a reverse strip to ours. I wonder who they are? :P

Agree the new monogram looks better with notches.

I used to be a fan of the old 1930s-1990s monogram, but am thinking that it does look a bit dated.

The one I like best now is the new one stretched horizontally, giving it greater balance. Someone did a mockup on here when we discussed this a year or two ago. Thought that looked stylish, modern and powerful. If someone can find it, would love to see it again.

As for the logo used in the media etc, as my sig says, MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANO...bring back the laurel wreaths!

Yep, you are quite right re ''crappy team''. All I'm saying is personally I associate the present logo with the darkest period in the club's history.
I associate the monogram I grew up with ( 8 flags in my lifetime) as the real deal.
And as you rightly say it doesn't effect the players, but the change still manages to upset (anger?) a few people of my vintage.

I believe this is the one you meant, Siegfried.
