What does everyone think of Ralph Carr leaving board to become Fevs manager ?

This is a little tricky considering he knows what other players earn etc.

I was never sold as Ralph as a board member - but he's a good bloke who is a mad keen supporter and completed his AFLPA agent accreditation and runs his own management agency. Knowing players salaries is not that big a deal as it's not as private as what it used to be and you could get pretty close if you really put some thought into it. Good career move for both men - but just my opinion...I'm sure others will have a problem with the conflict of interest - but I don't.

Meh, if anything it helps Carlton. Ralph obviously loves the club, he wouldn't want to screw them over.

To me its more of an interesting choice for Fev, you'd think that if you wanted to get top dollar then you wouldn't go with a manager that has a great afinity with the club you're already at.

Bonus of this is, we are only one or two more retiring board members away from Ahmed Fahour joining the board.

So if we're going to have a board of 7 people who stays and who goes? Those with inside sources into the club might hae a clearer idea of who contributes and who doesn't at board level, but its pretty safe to say that Pratt and Kernahan will remain on the board. Who'll be the other 5 to stay? Based on his bio I'd probably keep Marcus Clarke, every club needs a barrister, but as for the rest... *shurgs*

Ralph has been great and I think he is the type of person Fev needs

I was proofreading a book on corporate governance last week and one of the things I noticed is that plenty of studies have found that the ideal size for a board is 7 or 8 members.

CFC are quite a bit above that at the moment.

I don't know about Harrison but Moulton has extensive law experience working with banks and corporations, and given our financial situation that not a bad thing to have on hand.

Im sure we dont need Moulton to do that... im sure we can easily get that thing under control...

..... the days where every team had the token lawyer/ acciuntant / vet on the board 'in case' are gone...

The game is heading towards a more professional approach... the snagging of Swan is an example.... youre after the best!!!!.. so you pay them....

Board members must be dynamic with leadership and contribute with the vision.. the nuts and bolts should be taken to the best to complete...

Stephen and Mark have been fantastic to us on here and were fundamentally the two guys who put their balls on the line and ACTED to turn the club around, as opposed to just just paying lip service to the prospect.
However, we have a very big board at the moment and it will ultimately be Pratt's call on who stays and who goes.

Well Im hearing consistent names of guys who are going to announce they are leaving the board before the end of the year (ie: being 'asked' to leave) and I havent heard Stephen or Mark's name mentioned.

I am pretty certain Newton will stay.

Thats ok.. but im pretty sure there will be a part 2 to the cull.....

When Mr Pratt leaves.... and it will look very different then.....
