The 'Ask Glenn' section on the Blueseum has proven to be popular.

Very proud of this part of the site, it is unique among footy sites.

The Blueseum is unique!

The Carlton Football Club is unique!

And Mr Manton's responses to the fabulous questions are suuuperb!!

i met 'bluey' today. remember the bloke who used to write those hilarious articles on carltonfc? met him on the train going to the 'g today. he's a top bloke, he told me he'd been sick for the past couple of years and for that reason could not continue his articles on the site. looks healthier now and i asked him whether he'd return to writing articles for the site and he said maybe and that he was helping out some ohter guys with writing their articles. he said he got his membership last week and now he'll be spending his time at the matches in the cheer squad.

tb I think you may have been had? 'Bluey' is a well respected poster on this site and from memory retired from writing - I do not think he has been sick but could check for you.

The Blueseum has hit 150,000 hits to the homepage, and is now averaging about 300 hits to the homepage a day. All this at a time when the initial editing and data entry is all over, demonstrates great organic growth (read 'usefulness') of the site over time as more and more Carlton users check up our fantastic history.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-wiki_rankings.php

The top 100 pages is also interesting - the page of Chris Judd is about to enter the top 100 despite only playing 7 games for us.

Some more team photos have been sent into the Blueseum in recent times. Thought I would share.

The 1919 team, notice the kid peeking through the railing!

The 1928 team. This is October in Hobart. Obviously still cold!

Great shots Jarusa, amazing what can be put together.

Any idea of what Carlton were doing in Tassie in 1928? We didn't play a game there during the year. Also, are the C's on the hat of any significance?

Yes, I am an admin at the site and the site can be contacted at admin AT blueseum DOT org or via PM on any version of this identity at TC, CSC, TBV and BF.

We will update the game review for that information,

J is that John Gardiner in the middle of the 1919 shot? Gardiner, the one who De Bolfo wrote about during the week?

in the 2nd edition of the 150 years of football herald sun magazine (which i can't seem to find :x ), it had a picture of a team (not named carlton) but in 1864 (the year we were established) and this team was wearing the same jumper we wore from the 30's through till the 90's. if this was carlton, i didn't know we originally had this jumper, i thought we had some orange jumper without a monogram originally before we switched over. now that i've seen that photo, it's good to be able to say we've kept the same jumper we started with.

I think I have found Paul Cameron in the Pic.
2nd row. 5th from the right.
He was 5 ft 2"". That must be him. Looks like he is kneeling.

I've checked all the 5 Herald Sun "Our Game" mags and can't find a photo from 1864.
There is a National Bank team wearing Carlton jumpers but this is from 1968.
I understood that they did not wear any team jumpers in 1864.
They wore an orange band on a blue cap in the early days.

Great photos guys!

The Hobart 1928 one is an interesting one. I'm not entirely sure if that's Paul Cameron in the second row...could be Tommy Downs who was only 1cm taller than Cameron. As for the others - that's Denis Kelleher front and centre (next to the little fella)...Charlie Parsons is in the one with very broad shoulders middle of the back row...Jim Watson on his right... far left back row is Alex Duncan....far right is 'Soapy' Vallence ...Colin Martyn next to him...Horrie Clover is front row fourth from the right.... Captain/Coach Ray Brew is front row fourth from left...

...I would only be guessing at the others...think Norm Collins and Vin Arthur are in there but I couldn't be sure. The club went to Tassie after the 1926 season...I never knew they went in '28 as well.

The two old guys on the right are wearing the 'Baggy Blue' Cricket Cap that was issued with the CFC blazer prior to the 1923 promotional tour of Sydney. Tough times for the club these days...fantastic to have these photos.

Dr. would it be OK if we included you in some of the email correspondence we do behind the scenes at the Blueseum?

We often have photos like this come up and need to identify players so we can give their player profile pages a picture etc. and many other reasons.

Would be great to use your expertise in our deliberations.

This also goes for anyone else out there who has a good knowledge of the CFC especially pre- 1960s.

Thought I would post some feedback that was sent to the Blueseum today. This is a great read for all those people who contribute to the site. What you do makes a great impact on a lot of people.
