Pros
A win interstate
Simmo was very good
JR looks like he thinks he belongs, good last week, better this week and doing the hard things
Browne esp. first half
Judd - leadership
Murph - having a great season
Grigg - has looked promising in every game, has a bit of class
Setanta - I'm a fan, he was beaten a couple of times (as were most players) but looked to be coming into form. I still think his best spot is on half back line. Disposal good. Needs to be settled in one spot. Re the Waite debate - he certainly has the talent for CHB but is still our second most talented (and wayward) forward. Be interesting to see how he goes through the year. He is attacking and creative, but loose and teams will play through his opponents more and more as the Eagels did last night. Thought kennedy and Lynch both had the better of him
JK - best game I've seen from him by miles. Looked slow, lumbering, etc lats year. Looked every inch a #4 draft pick last night. Part of it is that he is the main target and they honour his leads. Played much better than I thought he was capable of

Cons
Giving up a big lead
Thrashed in the rucks, no short term solution at present. Clokey is a great trier, Big K will be a star but ratts needs to kep his word and not thrash him. If jacobs can get back to fitness and form might be a chance to be promoted. We need height and strength

Biggest Con - Channel 7 coverage. Commentary was lamentable. dennis Commetti wants to spend less time on laboured one liners and more n basic stuf like actually knowing the players. Is it Bouwer, Bowyer, Bower or grigg, is it Simmo or carrazzo etc etc. Pathetically unprofessional. And who is directing the coverage? replays of minor incidents while play is continuing, really annoys me.

This goes on on Ten as well as Foxtel. We want to see the @#$%&! game; show us a replay at a proper break in the game.

Pros:
Ball movement out of defence.
Good goalkicking.
Carrazzo has had a terrific month.
Good to see our onballers getting on the scoreboard.
Jamison did a great job against McKinley.
Browne looked very promising again.
Enjoyed seeing Grigg get a run in the middle.

Cons:
Smashed in the ruck.

Won't cover off all my pro's as there were many and posters have covered off all mine, but no one has mentioned a key stat that we achieved last night - WE WON THE FINAL QTR ON THE SCOREBOARD and finished the game off with RUN :-D

This is something we haven't done all year.

agree - they even got fisher wrong at one stage. Players names were called incorrectly on at least 20 ocassions (mcavaney and cometti)

One huge plus for mine was hearing the song sung with gusto in the crowd with 3 mins left to play.

Also I didnt mind seeing the eagle fightback - I think being challenged and seeing it off would be better for our development than had we continued to thrash them

Which is why, I always keep the volume down when watching Ch 7.

Yet another pathetic showing in the match day thread when we looked in trouble.

Mate i logged on to the match day thread for the first time and could not believe what I was reading. We have too many so called supporters who jump off of us as soon as there is any sign of trouble. W.C came back and we weathered it.

While I agree, I also understand his frustration. He was double-teamed and scragged all night, for no reward from the umps, who actually penalised him for minor rubbish frees.

I understand his frustration too but he looks a lot better when he makes an effort to chase. At one point last night he refused to chase a player about 2 metres from him. That sort of body language is not good from a leader. By the way I am a FEV fan but always think you can tell how he is gonna play by his body language. First qtr last night great, but then he had those stupid moments again.

I actually didnt like his body language in the 1st - the efforts didnt seem to be there (compared to 3 weeks ago).

Amusing that some people don't know whether to put JK in the Pros or Cons.

Pro - This winning thing is fun. We should do it more often :-D

Most of the others have been mentioned - Bower, Murphy, Russell, JUDD etc etc

Pro/Con - Kennedy played well for the wrong team. Respect to you Joshy.
- Bad Fev showed up and still kicked 4 goals

Con - Over officious umpiring and pedantic 50s
- We're still not good enough to put the cue in the rack like we appeared to in Q3. We'll learn from that [/Frawley]

PRO:-

We won interstate.
Fev's first half.
Murphy would have to be odds on favorite for B&F at the moment.
Setanta looked good and finished the game with 15 possesions with over 90% efficiency (according to some reports).
THE BOYS RUNNING TO SAY HELLO TO KENNEDY AFTER THE GAME! AWESOME SHOW OF SPORTSMANSHIP AND FRIENDSHIP!
Bower looked very good.

CONS:-
Fade out again.
Carrazzo's dissposal (don't care how many possesions he gets!)
JR....... sorry, but he didn't impress me.
We seem to struggle to find an answer sometimes. When the opposistion hit back, it takes us a while to come up with an alternative!

If only JR had the heart and second efforts of Kouta who was a great Carlton captain. :garthp:

As much as I like the guy, Setanta was horrible as I said earlier.

We will never be a power side with Carlos in the team.

I'm a bit confused by your post????

Why are you comparing JR to Kouta and captaincy material? I sure as hell never did?????

I thought Carlos was great last night. Certainly looks better suited down back. Good at spoiling!

Who else would you put in that position?

For all the doom and gloom talk of a fade out and a poor second half, we were only outscored by 2 goals in that period. Surely that has to be a massive plus?

Pros
Won a game in which we are favourite
Bower Grigg Browne all look like players- got confidence to run and carry and take risks
11 tackles from Bentick
Challenged and kicked the last 5 goals in a quarter
Setanta should perservere with him
Gibbs and Murphy get better each week
Jamison continues the development
Won game without hadley walker thorton and houlihan
Kicked over the ton
On ballers now kicking goals
Ratten game plan means we now play modern footy
Cons
Brendan report - gee he is frustrating
NEED a number of forward options -still too reliant on fev
No game next week

Pros

at some point in the game nearly every player stood up and contributed
Stevens effort in the 3rd
the umpires in the second
We won away with not our best line up -
Russel is so close to becoming a very good footballer
Grigg was very good in the last
mid fielders kicking goals
Gibbs looks like he is growing in confidence every game

Cons

I wish they would learn to bury a side

We are getting smashed in the hit outs

-WE WON INTERSTATE
-Judd

-Russel - his first half was good
-Bower
-Carrazzo - 42 disposals
-Fev's first half
-Bentick - I love this guy he gets in and tackles around the centre bounce
-Eddie - His work rate really has gone up since the start of the season
-How the players went to the cheer squad after the game

Cons
- Fev will get suspended for the gut punch
- We were home at half time but by three quarter time I was not so sure...
I can't see how Fev's love tap will get more than a reprimand. Low contact, low impact, negligent. Lowest end of the scale. Given a 25% reduction for an early guilty plea and another 25% for a good recent record (not suspended since Rd 4 2005) would make him a monte for a reprimand.

Sorry Ryan don't agree with you. IMHO we did not fade out yesterday, we were challenged and weathered and came back strong at the end.

What would JR have to do to impress you, do you know what his role was last night. Had a good first half then IIRC shadowed Armstrong for the rest of the game.
