Commetti's best line last night was "Carlton have been in the 80's longer than the Osmonds"

I think in the long term the team would benefit more from the fight back in the last quarter rather than a 12 goal thrashing. I know during the game I wanted a 12 goal thrashing but now after the event it will be better for their development and also the next game (fingers crossed).

I think at the start of the season most would have taken a 3/4 win/loss tally after 7 rounds.

Is there any concern over Juddy's ankle, should he miss the Victoria game this week???

While I agree, I also understand his frustration. He was double-teamed and scragged all night, for no reward from the umps, who actually penalised him for minor rubbish frees.

In particular standing over the mark, when the player who had the ball had his back to him and was going to kick it to someone.

PRO's

- Being there and the energy and passion of the CFC crew behind the goals, fantastic.

- JR, I watched him all night and he did fade in the second half but was no Robinson Crusoe. His 1st half running and presenting was fantastic, across the ground and diagonally into space. It really opened up the ground for us by dragging players away. Loved it that Armstrong kicked it into him!!

- Gibbs, Murph playing like the silky #1 picks they are.

- Bower, he still makes me nervous but what a difference a rebounding quick defender makes. Changes the game completely with that mark and run (glad Carlos was involved in that too).

-Judd - apart from just being able to cheer him and watch the faces of the Eagles supporters when he had the ball, he lifted the whole team with a little dish off here and handball there.

- others I likes on the night were Browne, Scotland (thought his kicking was OK), Grigg is a tough little nut, Wiggo, love him but won't play too many when we have everyone fit.

CONS

- 3rd Q

- A small number of pissed feral Eagle supporters who just wanted to start fights after the game with anyone in a CFC top.

- My 7 year old having to put up with being called a c--- by the above ("What does that mean Daddy")!!!!! Even Filth supporters are generally not that bad

JK, loved him in blue, still love him as a player and would love to get him back.

Overall way more pro's than cons and we're definitely on the right track

Pros
-WE WON INTERSTATE
-Judd
-Murphy
-Russel - his first half was good
-Bower
-Carrazzo - 42 disposals
-Fev's first half
-Bentick - I love this guy he gets in and tackles around the centre bounce
-Eddie - His work rate really has gone up since the start of the season
-How the players went to the cheer squad after the game

Cons
- Fev will get suspended for the gut punch
- We were home at half time but by three quarter time I was not so sure...

That is sad to hear Bluebo and a disappointing end to the night for you and your son.  But you guys have the last laugh.

On the TV I could hear the supporters behind the goals start singing the song late in the fourth quarter. :P :P

Pro's

Grigg Bower Gibbsy all stepping up to the plate at the end. Will do wonders for their confidence and belief in themselves. Major kudos to Ratts for giving them the opportunity to do something!

JR continues to improve. Has the mental strength to forge on without fuss and is providing great hardness at times.

Steve Browne will be an absolute gun for us in the future. Fantastic recruitment!

Dave Ellards got a bit of sh*t in him I reckon ..and i mean that in a good way. A young Dale Weightman perhaps? Let's hope!

Scotto Stevo and JUDD for their leadership.

Big Carlos, despite 1 missed spoil he should've got, showed composure skill and intensity all night and belted out the song with gusto when it was over. Great to watch!

Con's

Fevs mood swings. I'm serious when I say that he should see a psycologist and perhaps there's some sort of medication available that can level out his behaviour. He's far too mentally erratic for something not to be wrong upstairs IMO.

Waite's 3rd qtr brain fades ...excruciating to watch!

PROS: Got the 4 pts.. Steadied and played out the last 10+ mins well..

Carrazzo and Scotland, ball magnets last night. Real generals for us around the ground.

Eddie Betts: Really growing and maturing as a player, gives us that bit of class and spark in our team, plays with a bit of arrogance and flair and is growing with confidence. IMO little Eddies a class act!

Stevens: Stepped up to the plate and gave us some real class, particularly in the last quarter. Experience.

Judd: Class. Again. 8)

Bower: Seems to be growing with confidence every match, and loved his attacking bit of play which resulted in Kade Simpson's steadying goal for us that we needed.

Simpson: Good skills, good pace. Great player.

Bentick: Does a lot of the tough, hard work that goes unnoticed. Led the tackle count by a country mile, and is harshly judged by some here. Rock solid effort by him last night.

Browne: Like the look of this kid. Seems composed when he has the footy, great for a first year player. Great first half in particular.

CONS: Fev's love tap on Selwood. Propably go for a week for that. Very good first half tho..

2nd half: Began to get very nervous, texts from a Collingwood mate bagging me about my Blue thunder comment! lol. Thankfully we steadied, and i thought in the last 10 minutes showed the kind of team were becoming, and our skills and composure too good for the Eagles. :)

Josh Kennedy: Taking some real steps to becoming a very valuable forward. But guys, you don't get a champion player (Chris Judd) for nothing. Good luck to him though, and great to see the boys give him a pat on the back after the game. Wish him good luck!

Ruck stocks: Dean Cox a bloody champion and single handedly lifting up his team. He's a champion and our 2 rucks were outclassed last night.. Our Kreuzer would have learnt a valuable lesson or 2..

In the end, mostly pleased with the game. Apart from about 25 minutes of footy, we showed we were a class above the Eagles, our team is linking up well, were playing with confidence and our young team is growing with each game. Were on the right track, and this is Year no.1 in the Carlton comeback trail!

Will take time, but there are definetely exciting times ahead..

Maybe Brad but Carlton is leading the AFL for scores from defensive kickouts.
Our efficiency drops a fair bit when Gibbsy takes to kicks IMHO. Its no good having valuable players up the field if the ball doesnt get to them. IMO Stevo or Scotland should have taken the responsibility and not left it to a 19 year old who is still learning the game.

Everytime Gibbs takes the ball for the kick in I want Simpson, Scotland or Stevens to take the ball to ease my nerves. :(

Fev was a tosser when he started telling the crowd to shoosh after kicking his first goal. He just doesn't know the meaning of restraint when you add that other celebration of a goal into the mix.

The report was on the cards.

Am I the only one who wasn't totally convinced by Setanta's game? Was he on that young WC forward who missed his chances but could have had 2-3 goals? Can't recall the lad's name, but I am pretty sure Setanta was on him and thought the young WC forward did quite well.

Did last night give us another reason to trade that idiot Fevola? His second half was terrible. I know there was no supply, but it's not about goals for me, it's about his reluctance to chase/run when things don't go his way, and about his lack of discipline. If he gets rubbed out it will be almost impossible for us to win without him.

I would trade him for Kennedy right now.

Carlos was on Chad Jones (ex Kangas player and WAFL standard) for a while and was led to the ball repeatedly. I thought he looked better as a fwd when Ratts switched him.

Another pro was being able to yell "percentage" when Stevo goaled in the last

PRO: Hats off to the WA Carlton supporters for turning up in big numbers, and for creating one of the all-time great banners;

WE COULD RUB IT IN, BUT WE'RE BETTER THAN THAT

Classic!

I mean plenty of clubs have traded their gun KPPs. Lockett springs to mind.

Just because he is vital to our winning chances now doesn't mean we can't get rid of him. The fact is, he is vital but is a doofus because he knows he is vital but then does stupid shittt that threatens our chances of winning games.

We are a long way of winning a Premiership, it is time (arguably) to correct the ship as much as possible before marching onwards into the future.

Fev has proven time and time again he can;t be trusted, he is a fool and he showed it again last night.

After watching th game on tv
Pros
Juddy - when it mattered he stepped up and showed the leadership we have craved for years
Bower - great run, growing confidence and and has been said elsewhere his last quarter effort was sensational.
Eddie - just provides the magic!
Murph, Gibbsy, Browne, Kruez, Griggs - all tough, fearless and another game into them
Carlos - a depth player but how about that skoop up with the foot? Love his desperation and toughness and not our worst player by any means
AB - so tough in the clinches - the way he tore the ball from a Weagles player in the last and laid it off was fantastic.

Watching the way the young lads went up to JK after the game

We won on the road

Cons
Fev is such a space cadet! A Coaches nighmare. It will be interesting to see what happens withthe report, no doubt intentional but I think Selwood made more of it than needed.
Waitey's brain fades.

Yes that's the guy, he kicked poorly but had chances to hurt us. Thought Setanta by no mean played a good game. Should have had 2-3 kicked on him from a nobody forward, which could have changed the game.

Some people in here I swear have no idea.

Just watching the replay. Jones was on Bower in the second when he was missing all them goals.
Hard to know who was who during the game. Best left to the match committee.
