I'm not disagreeing with you BV. Unless Stevens or Scotland are instructed to relieve him of the kicking in duties, they're not going to take it upon themselves.

Cmon Camel I know you are happy but there were a lot of cons tonight, we faded out badly and almost lost it, and we got to such a big lead mainly due to goals which resulted directly or indirectly from free kicks and 50 m penalties.

I wouldn't say we faded, just had a team we were playing against who received an absolute baking at half time by the Coach and decided to play football in the second half. Rumours have it Worsfold made them all stand up 1 by 1 in front of the team. I forget what he made them say.

I see it no different to how we always had a big quarter in us last year after a rev up. Remember the Port game late last year?

Pros:
* One more win to not hearing the "virtues" of tanking from BO and Gavroman... 8)
* Set the win up with a great 2nd 1/4; equally, great lessons (and rewards) learnt in the last 1/4 to soak up the pressure and go on and win comfortably;
* The team is improving its intensity and fast realising it takes 22 to make a contribution; hence, it was especially pleasing to see the younger players (Grigg, Ellard, Jamo, Santy, AB, JR and Eddie) stand up;
* We are slowly developing a definitive leadership group which is providing well, direction when it counts- Judd in the last 1/4 being a prime example;
* Last year (or any of the last 6 years), we would handed a much-needed confidence boost to the Eagles- we didn't this time and that augers well for the future.

Cons:
* Clangers...we would've been smashed by a top 6 side- luckily, the Eagles are down on confidence;
* Fev........ :twisted:
* The umpiring- too many tiggy-touchwood frees on both sides- actually, I was shocked we got those 50s in the 2nd 1/4 in front of a feral WA home crowd. :shock:
* The rucks....love Clokey but we need Hammer to come back in- and Krooz needs a rest!

Overall, a very happy man this morning.......lopving this season so far! 8)

Pros:
Development and continual improvement of Jammo and Bower
Our midfield dominance over WC
Kicking 100+ without Fev getting a bag

Cons:
Throwing away a golden opportunity for a 10 goal win
Gibbs kicking in problems continuing

Great point bigfella, I thought the same throughout the game.

Wasn't that impressed by the Ox, and Im normally a fan of his, bit I was actually impressed by Bucks.

We should do everything we can to get him on board as an assistant next season.

Commetti's turned into a rambling idiot, but maybe sitting next to Bruce does that to you! Also Commetti consistently got Bower and Grigg mixed up.

Bucks was great loved how he contradicted OX a couple of times.

The only Cometti comment worthy of repeating was after Lynch missed (another) shot on goal from 20M out, he said "That was hooking like Divine Brown"

His bodies too unreliable. I'm hoping Edwards or even Ackland show something in the next couple of ants games.

The umpiring in the first half was a disgrace. The Wiggins 50 m penalty was the softest 50 m penalty I have ever seen.

Margetts(umpire no 6) is a shocker. He umpired the Richmond game. Never forgot him Lets hope we dont get this cretin in the future. He must be from Perth.

Imagine McLaren, Chamberlian and Margetts .
TRIPLE TREAT

As Ramsey would say
F___K ME

A big CON for me

The Shit umpiring even though the second quarter decisions went our way.

The square-up one in the 3rd against Waite was worse. The Wiggins one was at least there.

Pros
Smurph - ALWAYS
Judd - Stood up when he needed to
Simmo - Leader
Stevo - Stood up when he needed to
Carrots
Bower - Growing in confidence but doesn't make me confident when he has the ball
Jamo- Solid
Waite - Solid
Krooz - Love him
GIBBS - Better in the kick outs than in previous weeks. Kicked 2 goals which was wonderful.
Eddie - Happy with his two goals on the night. Has to keep harrassing in the F50
Ellard - He looks so tiny. Needsto make the Forward pocket his home
Browne - Cool head - I like him
Cloke - Took a big grab love his work ethic. Doesn't drop his head when bested by other ruckman. The better Cloke.
JR - great first half, then went away. Happy with his first half
Grigg - unusually kicking action makes me nervous. Very similar to Bower in terms of Bowers handballs make me nervous.
Wiggo - Presented well across half forward in the first half. Couple of marks that should have sticked or being paid.
Fev I would prefer he kept the sshhhh to the crowd when we are a hundred points up with 5 seconds to go. Opportunities dried up in the second half but was instrumental in Betts goal when he kicked across his body
Scotland - did an excellent sweeping job last night
Bentick - in and flowering under. he was superb in getting us first dibs to the ball.
Fisher - good link man and presented well.
Carlos - did some good work and nice hurling toe pick up when he passed to Bentick
Kennedy - he looked good and was confident. Pity about the guernsey. :oops:

Cons
3rd Qtr - Rubbish. I was seriously cursing in that part of the game.

There was nothing in Fev's touch on Selwood. He was actually shepherding if you look at the passage of play properly. Selwood went to ground to milk a free.

Pro: JR's smother of a set kick at goal (30-40m out). PAYBACK.

There seems to be a propensity for free kicks/50m penalities for slight jumper holding and a wee shove into a player that marks the ball this year.

The Wiggo one was for a clear jump into the back of a player who had already marked. It's rare to see them not paid, it's just that few players are unprofessional enough to do it anymore.

Cons: Fev's cocky antics. Can someone give this fool five across the eyes and tell him to pull his head. Fantastic footballers but dumb as dog shit...... grow up Fev

While I agree, I also understand his frustration. He was double-teamed and scragged all night, for no reward from the umps, who actually penalised him for minor rubbish frees.
