Buddy got 1 goal today, but Roughead kicked 5.

We don't have a Roughead.

It was Mark Maclure who was commenting on Fev not David McKay.
He was definitely dirty on him. I havent seen any replays so cant really know exactly what happened.

It seemed by listening though that Fev was double teamed all day, and
didnt get much help up forward.

And i watched the game today, fev did chase so u cant bag him for that.

..it wasn't his day, he did try really hard at some contests, and a few contests he was lackluster.. ..he looks worse, because all the focus is on him.. ..he had very little support up there, with F50 delivery the speed of molasses for most of the game..

So Fev has a shocker.

So what?

We have to, as a team, learn how to win matches without him kicking big bags of goals. Some weeks, his input to a victory might be 1 goal, but a whole lot of assists and tackles.

If he can keep up the defensive pressure part of his game and chase and tackle hard, and we still win matches without him carrying the team, both with goals and with inspiration, then all the better.

My criticism of Fev on Sat was when Murphy made a great play on the flank only to stuff the kick to Fev.

Fev just walked away with a disgust on his face. Needs to stay positive and not be dirty on his mates.

How many times have we said this.

I was suprised Ratten didnt move Fev further up the ground just to get him in the play and have Fisher play deep.

look we know what we are going to get from Fev over the course of a year. The club will make their decision to keep or trade at the end of the year.

maybe Maclure had a bit to say but Mckay was saying most of the garbage/vindictive comments

This is Fev at his best, and worst. This a another great example why other teams wouldn't pay him the big$$ and why we should not be offering a big 3 year deal. It's just not wirth the risk.

Let's put the game into perspective.

Most of our key players had an off days.

Blaming one over the others is pointless.

The game is won when 18-22 players compete. We lost 2 thru injury and probably half the team let themselves down by not supporting each other.

With Judd only getting 15 positions, he needed a blocker, which he didn't get. Someone should have stood up and taken on the task of protecting him, which is why Hads and Banno were sorely missed on Saturday.

Fev was having an off day, but I expect him to bounce back next week and also expect that Gibbs will never kick out after a point again. :(

No one thinks Fev should never have an off day, DUC, the problem is the way he handles himself on these days. It's really not that hard to keep your head up and keep on plugging away - others seem to manage okay.

I thought he chased really well but at most times, he was the only player in our F50, wearing a navy blue jumper.

When it comes to Fev people see what they want to see.

Exactly. Anyone else like to step up and kick a goal for us?

No Fev. No Carlton!

How many games have we won in the past 4 years or so where he hasn't kicked a bag?

When was David McKay commentating??? I listened to the ABC coverage and all I heard was Mark Mclure, Stan Alves, Gerard Whately and Possibly Drew Morphett.

As for Fev. If I was playing in the backline in his team and on past evidence of his petulant displays I'd be telling the coach to do something about it because it's letting the team down. As a defender there is nothing worse than to see the ball come back twice as quick because your forwards either give away dumb free kicks or they're whinging about their own supposed misfortune.

If he kick goals then that's great but it's his attitude towards the team is what matters to me and if he is wasting energy and time whinging to the umpire while the ball is still in play then he's not playing for the team. It's that simple.

As said elsewhere from one of the playing group, the honesty amongst the playing group could be better than what it is. Translation: some players who are busting their gut are getting ticked off by others players effort or lack of it.

As I think Stan Alves said, you may have a bad kicking day or drop a few marks but you can never ever have a bad effort day. It's impossible because you can always be involved somehow doing the team things.

When the ball was being run out of our F50, it was only Fev doing the chasing because there was no one else there in navy blue.

If he wasn't chasing one player, he was chasing another who had the ball passed to him.

Give the guy a flowering break. Whilst he cracked it, he kept us the chases and not half hearted either.

FFS - the number of poeple baying for his blood is flowering priceless.

I'll declare I only saw the first quarter and if he was still chasing and tackling then great I've got not complaints but he must have done something to irk the ABC commentators and I respect Mclure and Alves in what they say.

Stop it Mots, Fev IS the Carlton FC. When he finally retires we'll all cry for 3 weeks and then close the club down.

There is no way we can continue without Fev :( . The end of Fev will surely be the end of all of us.

Thanks for the memories CFC :P .

It doesn't take much for Fev to irk people. Just look at some of the posts on TC. :garthp:

So you could appreciate that the ABCD commentators were even less enamored of him.

So for effort and attitude when he didn't have the ball what would you rate Fev's game on Sat. Poor, fair or good?
