It's funny how people watch the same game and take completely different things out of it. Before this game I was a Russell sceptic slowly, very slowly, coming around but after his game today I'm now an unabashed fan. His chasing, his tackling, his 1% were absolutely top notch and many of his teammates could learn a thing or two from Russell in those areas. He obviously isn't comfortable in front of goal, but that's something that can be worked on and seemed to be due to a lack of experience and confidence in front of goal. He isn't a match winner but then not everyone can be Chris Judd. He's got a bit of pace about him, he works hard and he shuts down opponents. Big thumbs up from me.

OUR GAME PLAN SUCKS! THEY KEEP DOING THE SAME SHITE EVERY WEEK GOING TO THE WINGS AND GETTING STUCK AND END UP GOING BACKWARDS OR SIDEWAYS. IT SHITS ME GROW SOME BALLS AND PLAY ON FOR A CHANGE. OUR PLAYERS ARE NOT GOING TO DEVELOP BY CONTINUOUS SHORT PASSES. I HOPE SOMEONE IN THE COACHING BOX WAKES UP TO THIS!![/b]

Showed his pace often today.

Loved the tap on, and run, and hitting up a target...beautiful stuff.

Yep!!.

Lets play on and then bomb it long and hope for the best!!!!!

That tactic worked under Pagan right?

Think you will find that Adelaides style of play makes a lot of sides resort to this mate. They are so well drilled. Their gameplan is boring but often effective as it was again today in the second half. Clean, quick ball movement will overcome it - we fell down with too many skill errors today.

I come here and love the posts of some people...but there are people on here either have the shortest memories, or just blatantly don't know anything about what their watching (if their watching at all).

1. The first three games, we played fast flowing footy...we got beaten by a shit team, another shit team and the shittest team. We continually got goals against us late in quarters, and WE HAD A MASSIVE PROBLEM. Ratten came out and fixed it...playing tempo style footy is what it takes to teach our players. Look at hawthorn ffs.

Essendon* play the Pagan style footy and they will not win more than 4 games this year.

2. Get of Russell's back...he has been pretty good in the last few weeks, and i think he did more in this game than 90% of our players. He is fit, and never stopped running. He tackled good and did things good around the ground, only his shots at goal didn't work for him.

3. a) Grigg should've scored that goal from 2 meters out
b) Russell should've scored that goal from 20m directly in front
c) The Waite extra goal that they gave
d) The injuries against us...early
e) The injuries against us...late
on another day...we would've won that game...all this with none of our biggest names firing.

GO BLUES BOYS...we are on the right track and we will smash the Addicts next week.

people do realise we lost Hartlett and T-Bird and yet when Judd kicked that goal in the last we were still in it despite Judd being held and Fev being beaten and their rucks dominating?

I am actually happier tonight than I have been for a while. The kids held us together today, the kids, down two key talls, the just kept at it, even though we had to change the way we played (because of T-Bird and Harts going down)

I mean Kruise and Clokey had to change FF for flowers sake!

We will not win the flag this year

Pros:-

NONE.................. Sorry............... not one player could hold their head high today.

So the fact that none of our stars really performed and we still managed to hold our own for most of the match wasn't a pro in your book?

What a ridiculously negative post. You would think we lost by over 100 points to the worst team in the league the way some of you lot are carrying on.

With the way our dissposal was today we bloody well should have lost by 100points.

We are a better team than that and whilst i've been undedrstanding of it in the past, the time has come NOT to tolerate that kind of crap anymore.

So i'll stick with that post. Not one player could hold their head high today and say 'I gave it my all'.

Poor skills / no pressure / no communication......... was very very poor.

We should have done better and there are some serious issues that need to be addressed. If their not................ we are no better than the team that has sucked for 4 years now. We MUST be professional and say ' You know what....... not tolerating that kind of crap anymore!'

Geelong sure wouldn't!

We wore the blue jumper and not that insipid white thing.

YOU TALK SHIT!!

The Eagles, Pies and Swans all use the wings when going forward. Playing the corridor is a load of crap. Look at the Bombers and Bulldogs, they use the corridor but get heavy scores kicked against them. Yeah it might look exciting and as quick as they move the ball through the corridor when turned over it goes even quicker back. The last eight premiers averaged 80 points or less kicked against them.

Unless you are Geelong and have they skills they produce then stick to the wings. It seemed to work for the Eagles and Swans

We tried having a shoot out with the Bombers and we got smashed. We played one on one against the pies and we played the best footy we have in a long time.

It's not about pleasing the masses, its about winning a premiership and doing what ever it takes to do so.
