Fevola yet to convince Blues

Quote:
Fevola will fall out of contract within months. Although some senior figures at Carlton favour a one-year deal in a bid to keep the erratic star "honest", the 27-year-old is certain to be offered longer-term contracts by competing clubs desperate for a proven goalkicker.

Just some filler from Caro.

The essense of the story is that negotiations have been agreed to start mid-season, just because Fev has kicked 22 goals in three games Caro is trying to insinuate that because contract negotiations have not been brought forward from mid season something is up. Which is clearly poppycock.

Filler.

Just more verbal diarrhea from that cow....

What a load of crock, she probably hasn't even spoken to Swan.

More than likely its "from a source close to the club which I can't name" that seem to be her favorite line which translated means "I made this up when I was sitting on the can taking a dump"

I've long been an admirer of Caro's writing but she's losing the plot fast since she's become a airwaves star.
As Jarusa said, this is Wednesday filler. Two pars of quote from Swann, a dodgy digital image and you're off and running with a cover story.

File under Crapola.

what's wrong with what she wrote. The club using the media to make Fev shit his pants

i would offer Fev 1 year deal. He really doesn't ave any legs to stand on and if he thinks this is an issue he can leave.

the club has put up with enough from him.

good on em, take time to make the right decisions. Going by past history making rational decisions i what led us into the mess we found ourselves in

a nothing story, slow news week and Caro is feeling the pressure - next week she'll pick out a player that has a contract up at the end of the season and run with 'Club won't enter into talks with Player' - as long as it's a big name she'll feel like she has done her job

If we offer Fev a 1 year deal we are a deadest joke!

Regardless, just some meaningless fill from the trollip

Paul Connors doesn't think all that highly of Alex Fevola.

A one year deal is all he deserves. We would be a laughing stock if we offered any more on the back of 3 good games.

We don't have a bigfish/little pond situation any more and he's out of chances.

He signs a 1 year deal or he goes to the Dees. He'll finish his career as the most losing player in the history of VFL/AFL. I hope he seriously doesn't think the club owes him anything - surely not  . I'd offer him

1 year at $250k with the promise to increase it IF he performs.

I have to hope this is a Caro beat-up.

The cow is making it up. Who are "senior" people at Carlton. His contract will be decided by Swann and Icke and Ratten. None of those would tell this liar what they had for lunch let alone what they plan to do with Fevola.

As long as Judd is at the club, Fevola won't be going anywhere (voluntarily).

"Senior Figures at Club XXXX" and "My Understanding" are her stock in trade for the gossip, bile and innuendo she peddles.

Her stock is definitely at ZERO right now.

This Emporer is definitely wearing no clothes.

Please Caro put something on your scaring the kids.

Fevola has been fantastic in the last 3 weeks

But he has still got a long way to go before he convinces me he is a changed man on and off the fied

What is wrong with the article

Many posters are simply bashing it because it is Caro

The article has legs. Fev's contract is up years end. What does the club offer him.

As I posted a few years ago besides his stupid behaviour and the negative impact its had on the club the concern for me was his groin problems and the fact that he has failed to finish 2 of the last 3 seasons out.

He is 28 next Jan
A 3 year deal is ridicolous.
Lets hope the fiasco of Kouta's 5 year deal is a thing of the past.

Frankly folks as we all know your history comes back to haunt you
No more than 2 years not 3 and probably one.

If fev wants to be a one club player he will stay whatever Carlton offers him and it would be reasonable.
If he doesnt then he aint being honest and life will go on without him at Carlton.

Caro may be overally negative but I reckon shes ok.
The club has some serious negotiations ahead of them.
