It will be a credit to him, if he can slot right back into the team after being out for 4 weeks and also a credit to Ratts that he is playing with such confidence after most people felt his head should have been on the block years ago.

Get back soon Banno and bring Tex with you!

Having said that, this is a crucial time for Bentick to secure his spot in the team as he may not get many chances after the next month.

I think the opinion of Banno is much higher with the coaches than the supporter group in general so I think he has a future at the club regardless of this set back.

He looks more assured this year and consistent. The injury is a setback but he'll get back and be right

Agreed, I reckon how Banno has been playing the past few weeks is exactly as Ratts and Co have requested - in a role that encompasses more than simply getting possessions.

On another note, it's great to see that there are plenty of people here on TC that are singing his praises - and rightly so - for his performances so far this year... when compared with some on the shit we heard pre-season, it's good to hear that he is now being lauded for his efforts... :)

Get well soon Banno!

Its a big loss. The way he's been playing we will miss him big time this week. Any news on Gibbs? We need him more than ever now.

A real loss for the team. Mr Quiet Achiever, just did the job without any fuss or fanfare. From what I have read Jordan approaches his footy in a totally professional way so he'll be doing everything right to get back as soon as possible. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Jordan.

Yep....Banno has been a quiet tower of strength for awhile now....it's really rotten luck, and a bloody nuisance just when our backline/midfield is playing well as a unit.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this.

Bring back Gibbs to play the same role?
Keep Bentick in as another midfield option, and give the defensive duties to someone else - Russell or Grigg?
Thornton to play deeper and not do as much pushing forward?
Bring in Hartlett and put Setanta back again?
Go like-for-like and bring in another committed hard-nut in Wiggo?

Real shame he hurt himself. He would have got a dangerous mid-sezed forward/midfielder this week. Possibly Goodwin.

Gibbs (if fit) for Bentick,Harts for Setanta,Browne for Banno

Terrible news for Banno and Carlton.

I believe he had just about cemented a spot in the 22 this year as a utility; Mr Fix it (without being flashy).

We need this kind of bloke in the team. He's been dependable, solid and tough. I love the way he flies the flag and sticks up for his team mates. His shepherding was becoming a feature.

Bad luck, Get well soon.

terrible luck and will be missed. His shepherding/tackling is a feature, because he's the ONLY ONE THAT does it!

Its amazing that many on here are rueing the fact that Banno is out for a month. Goes to show how well and consistent he's been in all 5 games thus far - probably the most consistent in the team in terms of his performance and beating his man. Full credit to Jordan for cementing his position in the team.

He will be missed - make no mistake, but maybe one of Wiggo, Armfield or Browne will replace JB depending on team balance.
