Out of curiosity Synbad, i remember that you were an aggressive pro-tanker last year. Whats you stance on it this year, and the comments that Juddy has made in this article.

I also remember several TC fans saying something very similar to what Juddy was saying...that winning games creates a winning culture.

Judd "Procrastination can creep into footy clubs. Thinking along the lines of, "We'll be better next year when we get our injured players back, or when we get new equipment, or new draft picks …", is dysfunctional and gives players the opportunity to wash their hands of responsibility."

Without tanking we wouldnt have Juddy this year... nor Kreuzer...
.. or a guy that knows how to win...

Wed have Lance.... probably...maybe.. and Stevo captain..

Everyone is a better footballer because Judd is at the club...

There would be more darkness without Judd...

Thats what i think about what we had to do last year...
... having done what we have had to do... i believe that we now have the arsenal to move forward... in a meaningful manner...if the coaching staff and development coaches can extract the most of whats there...

make no mistake.. the only reason we can take what judd says in that article seriously.. is cos judd is saying it... and that article wouldnt exist if it wasnt for judd...

This is what last year REALLY meant to us....

i suppose we could be Melbourne.. and have won those meaningless games of footy...

The whole recruiting of Judd to Carlton reminds me of when Carlton got Barrassi from Melbourne. Both became captains of the mighty blues. Barrassi helped forge a positive attitude at Carlton and we would suspect that Judd can too.

Judd's leadership, ability and extremely high standards will help make Carlton a powerhouse in the years to come just like Barassi did back in the day.

Only difference is that Judd will play in a Carlton Premiership - and who knows one day may even coach one like Barassi as well. 8)

I don't think Judd will spend more than 5 years more in football.
He'll play until he's 30 (tops) and by then will walk away.
He's got so many things he can do, outside of footy, and will follow other pursuits.

I would love to be proven wrong, but at the moment, I'm just happy to be excited about the next 5 years.

Tanking was instrumental to geting Judd. Thanks to Paul connors most likely tipping Icke off, we were able to plan ahead and beat other teams in the pecking order...

It wasn't just about Getting Chris Judd for our playing stocks (Kruezer was a bonus), It was about restoring the repect of our brand........

And haven't we done that in spades. 8)

You mean like the crap most were posting that he couldn't just walk in to the captaincy, and the amount of money he'd be on would create angst amongst the players....blah blah blah blah - just the bullshit sentiments of the general football community.

Everytime he opens his mouth it speaks leader and everytime he gets the football it speaks leader. I love the fact he doesn't get involved in the football circus, but it doesn't mean his actions and words behind close doors won't impact more than any other captain.

Go Juddy!
