Maybe a little about why he has such a hunger for the footy when most ruckmen are happy going for the tap and then covering for their midfielders etc etc etc.

You're right - it was the perfect answer but not in the way the commentators might have expected when they asked the question.

yep that hunger was evident today. Look we little men will always look better (and perform those 'special things' far more often) but for a big man, he just bursts my heart with joy the way he attacks that pill - wait until he's a few years stronger, @#$%&! will he rip games open by sheer will.

but yeah, hey, go little men!

pros:

hard not to be greatful for a win.

Judd - won the game for us - assists, goals, clearances and f'ing workrate!! Ratten's possession game is dependant on blokes moving, making space, staying in play and forcing the opposition to man up and in the process creating mismatches and free men. Judd is one of the few to get this, JR also seems to get it, but his workrate and effort is shaded by a few weak moments.

Fev - made the most of his opportunities by staying involved and kicking accurately, but dissapointingly isn't leading enough, which forces blokes to put it on his head.

Simmo and Scotland returning to form - These 2 have been consistant valuable players over the passed two years, and we haven't been getting the benefits of Judd and Hadley with these guys playing below their best, pleasingly, it's returning.

Defense - I have long believed that we have one of the most talented sets of young KP defenders in the league and the introduction of midfielders who give a f&*% - like Richard Hadley - is seeing them get the support all defenders need. Jamo, Thornton, Bower and Waite, all big pluses.

Carrazzo - clean disposal, worthy of mention.

Murphy - consistant quality

Kruezer - was getting out-rucked by Jeff White's ability to jump into him and protect the drop zone, but Krueze stayed in the game and played a solid game, I would have loved him to have gloved that mark in the goal square after he completely out-pointed his dee oponent.

Cloke - Another solid outing, fingers crossed he stays injury free because he's a vital cog in the line up.

cons:

Played like millionaires for a good portion of the game, any other team would have put on 5 goals during those periods.

Shepherding and team communication - just didn't work together, rarely put on blocks beause the majority of players were too busy trying to get themselves a touch rather than let the ball carrier move it forward himself.

Forward set up - I understand why we hold up the ball looking for a forward option, I don't understand how it was possible that with all those numbers in attack we consistantly failed to get numbers to the fall of the ball after a fwd 50 entry. Small forwards need to prioritise creating forward line pressure over getting midfield kicks, if we're grooming eddie as a midfielder then WH needs to have a look at Chris Yarran for this draft because we are desperate for a more dynamic forward line.

For sure. He'd have been a shoe-in if he was 2 years older.

were you at the game today blu944??

melbourne pushed players back all day into our F50 and double teamed fevola all day. Rivers stood 10-15 metres in front of him all day. quite literally he had no-where to lead to. just goes to show the talent of the bloke. extremely limited opportunities and kicks 7. and continued his terrific work of late when he doesn't have the ball. there was a time not long ago where if he had had to deal with what melbourne threw at him today, he would have dropped his bundle, probably given away stupid free kicks and possibly even got himself reported. i'm trying not to get too caught up in fevmania, but maybe, just maybe, the penny has finally dropped

Pros:
Missed the first 15 minutes (and the first of Fev's 2 goals), but it was a highly efficient performance. Didn't look to be dominating, but continued to hurt the opposition with his goalkicking. Last 2 goals were freakishly good.
Judd.
Good to see some run and carry from Stevens.
Bower was very good.
Waite was terrific.
Finally got the kids along to a game where we won. :-D

Cons:
Melbourne's tactics. Extra man in defence for nearly the whole game. Started most centre bounces with 7 in defence, and on occasions 8. We struggled to deal with this tactic, except for that blistering 15 minutes in the 2nd quarter.
We could really do with a couple of others who can score goals at distance, besides Fev. Would make it a little easier to combat the flood.
Really like the way Jamison is developing, but thought he was surprisingly often beaten by Robertson on the lead. I guess at least he forced him out wide.

Pros:
Tackling was good again.
Ability to control the ball late in the quarters when we wanted to. Even managed to get some goals as well.

Cons:
Scotland was way too loose on Green.

Listened on broadband and it was worth it.
Cons:
Last quarter we shoud have gone on with it.
We can't continue with a FF who only gets 7 kicks a game :)

Having sides have to worry about tagging our midfield is gold.

Who do they put on Judd? Hadley? Stevens? Carazzo? Murphy?

We have players than can rotate through there. Finally.

Judd even got this screaming hetero into the land of 'movement'.

Loved watching the Judd/McLean duel.

Richard Hadley has been a sensational inclusion to our side and looks a deadset steal at pick 50ish.

Pros

Judd...class
Fev.....freakish ability to kick goals
Kruezer...smooth and skilled
Cloke...continues to compete well
Waite....getting smarter and wiser
Pfeiffer....hard at the footy and has given us depth
Hadley...see Pfeiffer..

Cons

To much reliance on Fev and when he is doubled team or blocked on the lead we mess around with the ball and lose it with poor disposal and decision making....

Bower frightens me at time with his decison making and ability to run into trouble...

Carrazzo...some sloppy disposal...is better than that.

Russell...too slow making up his mind what to do.....

Lack of fitness.......need a burst player like Benjamin to come off the bench and give us some speed and flair when some of our other players are spent...

Good summary Elwood - I would only add Jamison to the pros. He's a gem.

Pro - We won the game with only 3 players playing well - Judd, Fev, Waite

Con - Russell.

Its like watching a skilled version of Mark Porter.

Pros
Murphys guts stood in the hole in the backline twice to get crunched in the Demon forward line -didnt flinch
Murphy to Cruise cruise back to Murphy goal
The beautiful bald man Judd
Agree on Jamison the only way Dees were going to win was if Robbo got off the leash
More game time into Grigg and Bower Cruise
Clokey and Banno real warriors not vastly skilled but consistent through the 5 rounds - they seem to be making better decisions this year
Andrew Carrazzo - excellent again and not sure why people here were calling for his head 2 weeks ago -our most consistent performer
Hadley cool and tough
Cons
Last quarter intensity but it will come
