Judd is starting to look really imposing.

Jamison was outstanding.

Hadley showed what a valuable pickup he's going to be.

I wouldn't worry too much about the last quarter fade out. Maybe the players relaxed, maybe they tired a little, but they've been great for 2 weeks now. Lets forgive them for it.

No one is talking about the T word.
Our % is in the 90's

I wouldn't worry about the fade out. There have been plenty of games in the past where we kicked junk time goals to make the scoreboard look better, and we knew it meant nothing. When the game was there to be won, we won it.

Pros
2 wins (in a row)
2nd Q response
Judd - general play + kicking goals
Fev
No 1's courage - Kruezer & Murphy

Cons
Slowing the ball
Waiting for opposition to flood back
And then bombing it in anyway!
Foot off the pedal - beginning 2nd Q & whole 4th Q
Not using free men when 3 Demons on Fev

Pro: We won wearing the white strip.

Con: We were wearing the white strip when we won.

Pros

Judd...class
Fev.....freakish ability to kick goals
Kruezer...smooth and skilled
Cloke...continues to compete well
Waite....getting smarter and wiser
Pfeiffer....hard at the footy and has given us depth
Hadley...see Pfeiffer..

Cons

To much reliance on Fev and when he is doubled team or blocked on the lead we mess around with the ball and lose it with poor disposal and decision making....

Bower frightens me at time with his decison making and ability to run into trouble...

Carrazzo...some sloppy disposal...is better than that.

Russell...too slow making up his mind what to do.....

Lack of fitness.......need a burst player like Benjamin to come off the bench and give us some speed and flair when some of our other players are spent...

WE WILL NO LONGER BE INTIMIDATED!!!

Melbourne clearly came out with a thuggish mindset to pit us off our game. But the leadership of Judd, Stevens and Fev stood up and turned the game on its arse when Pfeiffer got clocked.

CONS

That last quarter was a shocker and to be honest we looked like the team that was getting pumped. Hopefully Ratts will have a stern word to the boys about taking the foot off the gas.

I thought all along that we will find it hard to get our selves up after last weeks game. Crowd was flat but thats due the style of footy we play.

We are the next St Kilda. Slow ball movement, try look down play, momentum footy. I enjoyed the win but if we played half decent team we would have lost.

I thought Fev was great to kick 7 with 2 or 3 on him. Juddy is a champ

I was most impressed with Bowser.. slowly becoming my favorite player.

Grigg was shocking. I don't care how many possies he got but his decision making is horrible.

Bondi Blue, I enjoy reading your posts.

PROS
Judd - my girlfriend thinks I have problems... that was just an average day at the office for the great man. is there anyone else here who just cannot stop talking about him in conversation at all times. I even quoted a saying from one of his articles about the cookie crumbling the other day, and it was a conversation about the music industry!!! Thats when I suspected I had serious problems.
Fev - electric.
Hadley - Just what we have been missing, sucked in lethal...
Backline - Like I have been saying, zone defense takes ages to gel, and until you settle on a back six and let them settle it will always be leaky, but look what these 6 have done with just 4-5 weeks playing together. I really hope Ratts doesn't change too much down there. (I have finally conceded that they obviously feel that Setanta is good man on man, but just will not be able to pick up the zoning skill, because as far as I can see, man on man he is still in our top 6 defenders)
Setanta - I am going into bat here - 2nd week playing in the forward line, please just give him another month to try his butt off. Awesome defensive pressure, just needs to have one day out where a few of them stick and a few more leads are honored and we are good to go. At least until we lose one don't change the team. It is only my opinion and feel free to bring this back on me, but I just think Hartlett is limited at this level, great kick, but as a defender I know who I would like to line up on least and that would be Setanta. I think most AFL defenders would not be to worried about matching up on Hartlett in comparison to when Setanta hits his straps. Again, he has only played 2 games here, has been switched from every position on the park while apparently learning a trade.
Simmo - he's back
Cloke - love how he seems to be in the right place at the right time in defence, solid mark.
Kruezer - How? It is ridiculous how he can step into the ruck first year like this. Please protect him a little though ratts.
The rest of the team. great job boys, another week with a big smile on my face.

CONS
Lack of intensity once the game was over. Although, it was on the cards. If they had actually put Melbourne to the sword I would have been unbelievably excited and surprised. It takes time to go from just winning to murdering teams. It will happen though.

Wouldn't it be better practice against the bye?

Pros:

- We won.
- My Man Jamo might get All-Australian in 2008?

Cons:

- We slacked off in the last quarter, bad sign IMO.
- Melbourne just played complete and utter crap football and never allowed the game to move out of fist gear, they shouldn't be playing half that team and blooding kids who at least want to have a crack and not pickup easy kicks.
- We need Hartlett is across HF. Carlos didn't do anything of note today.

Pros: Judd Judd Judd Fev Jamo Bower Hadley Kreuzer

Cons: Still too much bombing.
Can't handle the flood
Judd winning the toss & kicking to the main scoreboard end.
It was hard for our forwards to handle the sun in their eyes
during the last qtr

Pros:
-we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Brett ratten's coaching: having the presence of mind of sticking to a game plan and persisting in players in specific positions for runs of games (ie: russel, ohailpin as a forward, waite in defence etc) despite their performance. i dont think that we will die wondering for example whether russel is gonna be a good player he is being given enough rope to hang himself with. I think we would be rueing the loss of josh kennedy a lot more if pagan had just left him in one position to develop, may also be the reason why setanta's development is so delayed compared to the other irish boys in the afl

-waite - has had 4 goals scored against him in 5 games against some genuine goal scorers

-DEFENCE looks so much better with a GUN MIDFIELD

- JUDD need i say more--
- FEV- see JUDD
-Grigg - thoutght he was ok, gee with how much leeway russel gets i think some are being too harsh
-a mentality of winning ??
-being confident at half time that we were gonna win regardless
-FLYING THE FLAG!!!!!!!!!
CONS-
-white strip
-we were winngin by 8 goals FFS, we should have beaten them by 12 at least, man i miss the days that i would scream out "PERCENTAGE" after every goal we score
-tackles are a bit soft
-fev really is our barometer
-depth, wasnt so scared on hearing gibbs' late reoval
-injuries, reports
-holding the ball up!!!! do we really need to signal our intentions so blatantly??? god it looks so stupid

Jeez, my eyesight's crap - I didn't even see Hadley out there. Pleased to read he had a good game.

The thing about today is that Carlton became one of those teams that only needs one good quarter to beat us - er ... a team. Nice.

1) Murphy - great 1-2 1-2 with whoever it was (bad eyesight remember - although it was right in front of me)
2) Kreuzer - I refuse-r to believe that a ruckman of ours is that good around the ground. Mature, skilled, legs like tree trunks, brilliant
3) Judd - especially that Eagles' era goal out of the middle - and the shimmy around a couple of Demon's to kick it to (probably) Fev (bad eyesight)
4) Cloke - I thought he worked hard to stick it up Collingwood but it seems he actually just works hard. Great player
5) Jamieson (sp?) - one of the best backmen in the league this year

There are no cons when Carlton wins

Fev had a meh day but jeez he's getting good at defense.
