To me the standout part of Sundays game was the one percenters that allowed us to regain the ball and control the game

This was the main reason we were in front and then we were able to play tempo footy towards the end of the quarters .

I have been a strong critic of our softness at times in particular in reference to
Scotland
Houlihan
Russell
and Stevens

Houlihan as we know didnt play and wasnt missed at all.
Scotland was good on the weekend but needs to back it up this week
Russell is lucky he has played at all but occasionally produces something out of the blue. He will probably play this week

I have been very critical of Stevens and his one way play.

Watching him closely on Sunday hasnt changed my mind
Stats do not tell the whole truth
I would prefer him on the wing and not at centre bounces.

In todays football you cant have any players who simply dont go in and get their own ball. Stevens does this nearly all the time. We were able to get away with it on the weekend but we wont in most circumstances.

I would love Bentick in the side for those centre clearences and have Judd more as an outside player.
We must get tougher and put more pressure on the opposition . We did this and set the scene for a great victory. It is the key factor in winning footy games providing you can kick your 16 odd goals each week which we are capable of.

The top teams force the opposition to hurry each kick. We did this on Sunday. The 4 players mentioned have been the main offenders IMO that have let the team down.
They simply must improve their efforts.

There has been a fair degree of criticism against Carlos about his peformance on Sunday. I can understand that . Sometimes he doesnt seem to know what he is doing but I loved the defensive pressure he put on those pie backman.

Dont drop him for Houlihan. Give me that over 20 odd pretty stats any day.

Stevens had 4 CENTRE CLEARANCES!!!
It may not sound like much but no one from our side had more than him, cloke and hadley also had 4.

JUDD had 2

Keogh get off his back and stop bagging him!

HIS JOB IS A FINISHER yet he still produces great work in the centre square

Whatever agenda you have with Stevo GET OVER IT casue it's getting pretty silly and quite annoying.

He's had a YEAR off from footy and will just keep getting better and better and you already have egg all over your face and it's only gonna get worse for ya pal as he get's more games under his belt!

As I said stats dont tell the whole story.

What about playing him as a permanent winger as apposed to being on the ball. What do you think of that

NO. Don't agree

Our starting 4 of every quarter in my mind should be

Kruezer - Great tap work already in only 2 games this is evident.
Judd - Best Centre clearance player we have
Hadley - Great body work and blocks space very well
And Stevo.
Stevens is fantastic at reading the tapwork of not only our taps into space but also the opposing ruckmans tapwork.
The first 3 rounds last year he's combination with Cloke was awesome.
Watch him properly and not just 1 centre bounce then judge people on that!

I'd rather have murphy or gibbs in the centre square rather than stevens.

You've been consistent on this keogh and agree with the above.

As for the names you've selected, I've also had some reservations, but cannot lay the blame on them for everyone else's softer approach to their game.

As you will note from Sunday, 3 of those players played and we won; it was a team effort.
Regardless of the player everyone must put their body on the line when the time comes.

As for Stevo on the wing, how could that make you happy when you just don't like what he has to offer anyway? I think even wingmen have to get their own ball.

I too watched Stevo closely and I think you missed a couple most courageous efforts from him. No, I should say 2nd and 3rd efforts and we won those balls. He even put his neck on the line on a 3rd effort, and I thought he was reckless and going to hurt himself; he didn't get hurt and we won the ball.

I think Stevo is tougher than some think.

I'd love to see Bentick in the guts, but not at the expense of Hadley. It's a tough call to pick the 3 players in the middle, and unrealistic. Realsitically, because of the need to rotate midfielders we need the in and under types, the outriders and the linkmen, and we need them all to have a dip when it's their turn.

We need a group of capable midfielders and I think we've got them in our stable; they're just starting to hit their straps and showed for once they can put on a 4 Q effort.

It's going to be awesome when Walker returns...oh yeah then there's Bentick and Houlihan to add to the fold.
