Pros

We won
Kids
Defense
Tackling
Running both ways
Tempo footy

Judd - Looks better with every run
Murph - This bloke is a STAR (totally underated)
Gibbs - Tackling
Hadley & Pfeiffer - Found some hardnuts
Fev - Keep him
Grigg - Where is my favourite we can do better then drafting Grigg post
Waite Jamo Bower and Thornton - Who knew we do have key defenders

Cons

Marty Clarke and Sentanta O - one has played 5 years of footy the other 5 min guess which one is which :?:
Selective supporters - Yes some of Waite's disposal was ordinary but Gibbs made just as many mistakes yet only Waite has made it in the Cons so far

waite is 25 and gibbs is 19

Yes your right Waite runs 25 metres then kicks it and Gibbs 1.9m so I agree Gibbs should do alot better

I guess people's expectations on seniors players like Jarrad Waite are a little higher than they are for Bryce Gibbs. You don't expect 25 year olds with the experience of Waite making silly mistakes that a second year player would make.

That said Waite more than made up for it in other ways. We've should be pretty happy that he was able to beat a power forward, while in the past we felt we could only play him on the athletic types. Great game from our key defender.

Pros

Our Tackling was intense. Whatever they did through the week do it again!
Grigg showed a fair bit - Tougher than I thought.
A good even effort from the team.

Cons
We didn't win by more. (I'm raising the bar already)

Pros

Badly needed win to start a winning culture
Strong defensive pressure all over the ground
Even effort with our stars not as dominant particularly in the mifddle
Fev in a dominant display.Thought Harry did all he could to stop him.
Tackling improved
Younger brigade led the way

Cons
Tempo game. We tend to self destruct and ony serves to hurt us in the end. Signalling our intention is counterproductive. We do not have the all round skill level to play this brand. As soon as the ball ends up with one of our poor disposers of the ball a 50/50 contest is created in our back half. Need to a smarter strategy where the opportunity presents we quickly create some run and carry the ball away from our goals.
Thornton still plays like a millionaire having all the time in the world before disposing it by putting a team mate under pressure. Drop him now.
Waite taking the kick outs. Should be on the end of the ball with his pace and aerial ability. Cost us a few cheap goals. Despite his early error Gibbs is suited to the role.
Supporters making outlandish comments on the basis of the one solitary win. Until we win consistently, we should pull our heads in. Long way to go.
Still playing players not yet at AFL standard

PROS:
-the defence looked way way way better than normal. we had some really good rebounds, and completely controlled cloke, rocca, medhurst, thomas etc.
- murph:another good game...gave good delivery to FEVOLA.
judd, bower, gibbs, pfeiffer and hadles played great, kreuz again, cloke, waite, t-bird, jamison and finally carrazzo & simmo looked better. grigg and bannister who i have been a bit critical of, both played good games and earned there spots in the team.
- fevola was disciplined. there were times were he would get involved in brawls or go smashing thru players and get reported. when he's off the alcohol, gives 100%, and keeps his cool, he can beat anybody and be the best forward in the league.
- our intensity seemed a little bit better today. the tackling was improved but still needs a bit of work.
- we conrtolled the play and kept possesion well.
- fishers dukes
- we didnt break any off those 2 embarrassing records
- we have hit form and won a game just in time for the melbourne game...lets hope we come out and SMASH THE DEES!!

CONS:
-Stevo's report...he should get off.
- we once again conceded late goals...but not as often as recent weeks.
- JR..he was much better, but i think there are others (browne, bentick, jackson, anderson) who deserve a spot in the team more than he does.
-carltons banner ripping up?

as soon as i saw harry o'brien go on fev..i knew what the result would be 8)

Yes normally we struggle to play tempo footy,

BUT

today we dit it well - give credit , where credit is due FFS!!!!!!!!

Go & watch the the last 5 minutes of the 2nd qtr again - BRILLIANT STUFF.

Bruce McV made some kind of comment that the next 5 minutes were crucial for the blues (I thought the Ch 7 copmmentary was outstanding this arvo) - we went on & defended brilliantly & then had 26 out of the next 27 posessions & all of them were effective AND we kicked a goal AND we stopped Magpies from scoring.

We are developing nicely - given our average age & games played , I get so frustrated when I read supporters criticise ratten, game plan etc. We're still learning FFS, just relax everyone.

My main pro today was matching a very fit side for four quarters.

The boys have been building from eek to week so far this season and put it together today.

Still bleeding about no song on the coverage though....

Imagine how many he would have got on 16. When he was on him in the last fev was having a picnic. Unfortunately for us Malthouse saw it early and move Harry back.

Pros: All the young kids who have played only a handfull of games between them - coming up against a seasoned team like the filth & beating them.

This was easily our best win for years :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The look on Eddies face just before the final siren :-D :-D :-D :-D

Pros:

Murphy - His efficiency around the ball is unbelievable, he never misses a target

Kruezer - He made Fraser look like a 1st gamer. Beat him around the ground and challenged in the ruck.

Hadley - Very underrated. His hardness and defensive pressure was important in regard to team balance

Jamison, Bower, Thornton and Waite beat there opponents

Fevola = goals

Gibbs - Made a few errors but his ability to read the ball and create play is very important.

Grigg – Very smart player and will be at the club for a long time

Team tackling a defensive pressure was the beat I have seen in a while

We didn’t panic when under pressure and played with confidence throughout the day

We controlled the tempo of the game

Pros

1- Mastering the Tempo Footy towards the last 2 minutes of each Quarter. We actually did it perfectly. Did not lose the ball at all

2- Judd ,Stevens continue to warm up and are reaching their best soon

3- Scotland back to his Usual Reliable good Form

4- Good signs from the kids

Cons:

1- Too many basic Errors that Resulted in cheap goals. Gibbs killed us as well as the ever eratic Waite who made few costly decisions Deep in Defence but made up for it by having a Blinder over all

2- Setanta : Really looked Horrible Today. He just does not look right at all. Something is wrong with him. He was Slow, couldnt give a contest and was too slow. His decision making is also poor. He needs to regain some muscle and Strength. Send him in the 2's and recall Hartlett/Edwards

biggest PRO of the game was Fevola's 2nd 3rd and 4th effort to contest, tackle, tackle again from hands and knees and finally wrentch the ball free and handball to Grigger for the sealer.

That and Gibbsy's 2 run down chases in the first quarter really set the tone for the rest of the game.

My post and negative rhetoric

*edited for accuracy*

How will we beat the Pies without Hampson and just Cloke and Kreuzer rucking?

Josh Fraser is a cream pie.
