Call me kooky, but here it is...

I'm a very superstitious person by nature. Rather than using "reason", "science" or "logic", I look for signs in everyday stuff that so-called rational people dismiss. Maybe I'm dilusional, maybe I'm mad or maybe I'm cluctching at straws but I'm sure we will win.

Footy is not a science. Reason or logic has no place in this game. Our team has fantastic promise but has failed to produce... until now.

My reasons why we will win:

* It's our first day game for the 2008 season

* We are playing at the G on a Sunday

* Our bandwagon supporters have lost heart after last week's loss so it will only be for the "true believers" (just like when we beat Adelaide at AAMI after getting thumped the week before)

3 seemingly unimportant facts

I also believe we are a good chance to win our next 3 games but I will wait and see...

I welcome all you "witch burners" out there to ridicule me and my bold prediction based on nothing. Bring it on! You will be eating humble pie but you will also hungrily devour the newspapers on Monday looking for "reasons" for our win. You will only find the blind rantings of second rate journalists trying to regain some credibility after rubbishing us for the past 3 weeks.

So there it is.

No barrage of abuse here...

As that great philosopher Kath Day-Knight once said....

I can feel it in me waters...

- The Pies defence isn't that flash without Clement and Presti and I have the feeling that Fev will teach this Nathan Brown kid a lesson.
- With Judd, Stevens and Hadley approaching 100% fitness we are a good chance to beat them in the midfield.
- Simpson and Fisher are both due for a big one.

On paper there isn't a great deal of difference between the sides IMO. Hopefully we have the self belief to win and the fitness to run out the game.

Mr Stand.... or can I be so bold as to call you by your first name Heatley, Heats.... Heaters. I have only one thing and one thing to say to you. It's "delusional", not "dilusional"

Agree

After the pain subsides each week every one looks to the next game & starts to believe again...only to rediscover the harsh reality again on the weekend

I'll tell you why we'll beat Collingwood!
Because we will finally find pride in wearing the CFC. Our players will finally realise that enough is enough! This is one of the biggest sporting rivalries on Australia and if they cant get pumped up for this game then they will never get pumped up.
Its Murphy vs Thomas
Nick Stevens and Judd vs Eddie and the board
Rattens chance to prove himself and show he will not tolerate this crap anymore.

But it will only start on here, with the supporters. We need to shut up! Quit bagging the coach, quite bagging our players and get behind the team because if we ever need a victory against Collingwood its now!
So for atleast the next 5 days, put down your swords and show your support for every single player that is going to be out there. They need us too!

We on this site bleed navy blue! Now its time for our players to show they too bleed navy blue, but more importantly ON SUNDAY COLLINGWOOD WILL LEARN THIS TOO!

I think we might be onto something here...

This week i made sure i only drink coffee out of one of the Carlton mugs i have
The Carlton theme song hasn't been played on my playlist yet (i have it on random and if it comes up i know we will lose :( but i have over 1300 songs in the playlist)
I'm going to make sure my shoe laces are tucked into my shoes on Sunday
Every night before i goto sleep i look around and make sure anything related to carlton is in tack and where it should be
and to top that off i'm not going to shower until we win!!

Admire your enthusiasm heatley stand!

I sure hope your right! If we can play up to the standard against the bombers (which apart from a few passengers i believe was very good!) we will give the pies a run for their money..

But we've done that a lot the last few weeks.. Kinda tired of the ol honorable losses, count for nothing in terms of points on the board..

Would sincerely love to beat them though! They've given us a couple of headaches over the last few years !

We won the midfield last week  58 inside 50's to around 52. The problem occurs when we bomb it to the half forward line and our midfielders aren't in a position to stop their opponents when inevitably we don't mark the ball at half forward. Also the fact there is no forward line pressure.
