1. to make timid; fill with fear.
2. to overawe, as through the force of personality or by superior display of wealth, talent, etc.
3. to force into or deter from some action by inducing fear:

With our group of young kids starting to play more consistently one component I feel we need is an INTIMIDATOR. I worry that these kids do not know how to win yet. We have been in winning positions atleast twice this year only to fall apart.

We need someone who will do something that will change that.

Someone who will lead the way when things get tough and do the inspirational things that lift a team.

Somone along the lines of Glenn Archer or Peter Dean. Dean was a star in our last premiership and his desire to win lifted the whole side.

Is there anyone like that on our list like that coming through?

Or is there someone in the system we can get to fill this role?

I guess by the responses so far, the answer is NO?

You could add Ackland to the list, but I guess he'd have to play before he can intimidate.

I think the intimidator needs to be intimidators.

Fev, when he is on song and Judd!

We should have Hartlett sharpening up his elbows this week to use on the tip of Didak's jaw.

He's expendable for 4-6.

Can his other elbow clip Daisy and or Pendlebury?

I'd go with Scotto. It's the only way he'll be dropped.

I'd want them to have a winning attitude. If they need to intimidate to to encourage them to walk the walk, then go for it.

ABC National reported just moments ago that Carrazzo believes the Blues have forgotten how to win, hence the 14 losses in a row.

They know how to play but not for a win.

They need the winning attitude.

My guess is that he feels that at times when we should be icing the game, perhaps at the end of quarters when we usually lose concentration and feeling a bit tired from a big effort, the team should know what to do, but don't. I guess that's because they haven't done it for a long long time.

That's my take on it.

We obviously lack the leaders to take control on every line.

It's time they sorted this out,,,,eyeball each other and discuss what they need to do when they're in front and tiring/ losing concentration.

Intimidate? Maybe.

Fev is our intimidator, and the other players know it.

Of coarse he mainly roams the Forward line, and his intimidation causes some opposition turnovers for us in our F50.

He also roams further up the ground. Players all over the ground for opposing teams are well aware of that, and aware that if one of our players gets felled behind play Fev will swiftly make his way up the ground and let them know about it in no uncertain fashion........

I agree that Hartlett has the potential to be an intimidator also...

Pfeiffer, anyone? He already hits the ball harder than just about anyone on our list, so it's not too much of a stretch of the imagination to see him doing the same to opposition bodies in future.

i'd like to see armfield given a run, while he's not the biggest bloke around he has the desire and aggresion i reckon.

time to let him loose and see if he can step up to senior footy.
