Pros
3rd qtr
Judd
Kruze
Fev
PFEIFFER! (don't know why no one else has mentioned him, one of the few to put his head over the ball and handle the ball surely)
Hadley
Murph

Cons
Selfish football (heath im looking at you)
Carrazzo watching rama mark and waltz into goal rather than manning him up
Simmo - love the guy, but had a shocker
Inability to stick tackles
Fitness- Ratts coaching, not fit enough or not willing to gut run?
Jordy Russell - have always defended (see avatar) but was shameful tonight. Would really need to improve to still be on the list next year

I went to to footy with mates who don't support either side. My mates support Hawks and Bulldogs and they can not believe how Houlahan continues to get a game even at the club. I agree

some tough decisions have to be made with players like Russel, Banno & Houla. we will not move forward until the passengers are gone.

personally they are not the future and i would would move them on come years end.

Cons
- I expected
- Russell. I've been sticking up for the kid to date but it is now clear he doesn't have what it takes. Didn't chase Lovett hard enough when he kicked that goal in the third quarter and of course the turnover kick to Bannister hurt us badly.
-

This is complete BS.
Russel is up and down BUT...

Watch the replay, Russel runs past the first Ess player who tried to shepherd who was too slow to get there for Lovett. Then he tugs JR's jumper with JR and Lovett right on the boundary line which lets Lovett get the break. Lovett runs off with Scotland (I think ?) chasing and the Russel runs past (around) Scotland and almost lays the tackle on Lovett.

This happened right in front of me. I looked straight at the ump who was looking at the Russel jumper tug and let it go..WTF.

We lost the game by not protecting leads and conceding goals late in the quarters. ...BUT this game had the most bizarre umpiring of all time.

No jumper tug and Lovett is run down by JR and we all go wow. Get the free and that's one less goal..and who knows!?! Instead we are still looking at Russels mistakes

the big problem is that simpson, carazzo and scotland are down on 07. to win games we need 6 rotating thru misfield and all playing well, stevens, judd, betts and murph were good tonight but the 5th and 6th were not. once they all fire there will be many more pros and less cons

Agree - say what you want about the rest of his game but his chase was first rate and from a fair way back almost chased down probably the fastest player on the ground.

PROS

This game proved to me what I've been thinking for a long time, there is one set of rules for 15 teams and another for Carlton. Not even going to list them now - except to say if Fev can't use his hands or his forearm or his hip, what is he supposed to do? And Eddie Betts should be ashamed of himself for that shepherd on Dustin Fletcher

Eddie
Murphy
gibbs
Jamison
JUDD

Cons
Team doesnt know how to win
INEVITABILITY OF DEFEAT WHEN 1 POINT UP AT THREE QUARTER TIME
Decision making shocking -particularly at end of third quarter to squander lead
14TH LOSS IN A ROW COMING

Yep back from the Game

just so frustrated ween we had almost more of everything and still lost just cant push for that elusive win

We smashed them in clearances / Won more contested ball and uncotested ball... won more contested marking and uncontested

Failed in the Tackles and more disposal errors and got damned by the umpires again

Pros
Betts best game he has played and was very strong reason we where close to Bombers at half time

Judd best game for the Blues 32 Touches / 15 Contested possesions
Stevo - improved game 3/4 of match
Murphy
Fev 8.4 but could have been 11 Goals with 3 posters
Kruzer great debut
Hadley improved greatly

Cons
We flower lost again
Simmo / Scotland / Houla / Fish - Poor games
Banister shuts a player down but fails to do much himself and makes some crucial errors and critical times
Russel - Pitiful effort tonite
@#$%&! umpires
We lost again

If a win is what you are looking for then every week is a worry.

Personally I would just like us to use the rest of this year to develop our defence. Rotate players through that back six until we find some kind of working formula. No other tactic anywhere else on the ground will help until we learn to defend.

We get one more day's rest than the filth for next week.

I am sad about this result. I thought we he had it. But it was just a fraction of belief that cost us. I did think this would be the game that would launch us beyond that. But in no terms am I devastated- there was so much to like. You can see it all falling into place, it's just such a shit to see it fall apart in one final quarter. That 'quarter' is the one we will conquer next week against the Pies in order to set ourselves against the Dees the week after for 2 wins out of the first 5. We were good tonight, just unfortunately unable to get the flow right.

The flanks for me as a weakness. Back and front. Betts rocks, and Ratten is right to say he is our measure.

Next week

:-D and then some.

And you think our backline can keep them to a score below ours??? Think long and hard about this one and then be totally honest with yourself.

Do us all a favour.... Go to bed and think about what you will write next week when we have a win. Broken record.

BO is that you?

PROS: Juddy, Stevos better from the run, Pfieffer-hard as nails
Murphy Gibbs improvig need abit more hardness,Jamo did a good job down back Fev returned & Betts is started to believe that hes a AFL finally.

Cons: Omit: Houlihan - Has all the silky skilss and no heart or toughness with come out of him replace him with a toughnut - Shirkes hard balls, Scotland poor under pressure- Carraso maybe be eating too many pizzas? Easy turnovers & Jorden Russell ur were a disgrace the last two games and very much is a piss weak player.

Anyways that how I feel

:x

Pros:
Kreuzer had a blinder for a debut
Judd - Is there anyone bring this guy down without him getting rid of the ball first?
Stevens - I love this Stevo
Murphy - 20 years old and already in our top 5
Gibbs - Developing nicely
Betts - Eddie everywhere

Cons:
Scored 134 but we lost javascript:emoticon('')
Simmo and his reluctance to use his right foot, cost us several attacking plays and a few turnovers. Every time I spotted him on his right I knew something would go wrong.
Not everyone putting in - It was Essendon*'s team against our star players plus half a dozen more
