IF you were correct, that would be a cultural problem within the club.
No one should be avoided for asking questions and wanting to improve themselves. :?

I couldnt care if they ask the same question 50 times, as long as they're looking to address any deficiencies or misunderstandings, whats the problem? I'd much rather that scenario than players who ask nothing and think they know it all.

I'd suggest we have a few people making mountains out of molehills. (just for something different)

There are always going to be communication issues when working with Irishman that are not natural AFL footballers, but to take it to this level is ridiculous.

What a load of crap. Have you ever met the brothers? Have you talked to players first hand that have complained about them? If the answer is no, then I think its best that you keep your fake observations to yourself.

Setanta spoke of the advice he was given about gaining weight and that he was told to not do it too quickly because he might break down, which he did with stress fractures in his foot. It seemed to me that the advice was taken well and directly contradicts the statement about them not listening to the fitness staff.

umm... I might be misreading but your post would suggest that setanta didnt take the advice of the fitness staff on board (re:weight gain) and consequently suffered stress fractures in his foot.

I wont comment on the ohailpin boys other than I want them to succeed - however to answer the above questions - yes and yes - I would have dropped them years ago and would be looking to offload them at the end of this year

could you contradict yourself more!!... You want them to succeed but you think we should offload them:? How the heck can they succeed if you offload them? And when they succeed it will prove how wrong your opinion of them is/was, so clearly you have no interest in them succeeding.

Reread the post. If they put in the effort then of course I want them to succeed (just like any other carlton player). The comments on offloading 'them' was referring to the actions/efforts (or rather lack thereof) of Fevola and Stevens - I'd be more than prepared to offload any player with a poor attitude regardless of 'potential'

The problem was that DP wanted Setanta heavier, close to 100kg and quick to be able to play AFL and have him as as a big quick guy,
only Carlos couldnt run as he hadnt adjusted, he knows in himself that he is better at 95kg.

Carlton's Irish brothers are a long-term project that may have run its course.

The engineered story dropped by the Football Department designed to get a response from the players in question (in this case we hope its a positive response) - freak athletes we hope will turn into good footballers.

SORT IT OUT!

These boys can still play a large part in a Carlton revival.

There is definitely a place for Setanta in our backline now. Play him at FB and leave him there.

Aisake has enough upside to think he could gain a spot for years to come.

If we allow this disagreement/misunderstanding to torpedo the whole warship we have wasted several years we might have used on other possibilities.

The guys can play so ......

SORT IT OUT!

Lovett 2, Davey 1, McVeigh 4, Lonergan 2, Monfries 2. Yep, the tall forwards really killed us and we had more clearances/inside 50s. The ruckmen killed us too :-D

Aisake is in his third season at Carlton and is yet to play a senior game.

Yes I suppose it does :? . I wouldn't have expected him to go against what the fitness staff asked of him. I thought more along the lines of "oh that's how I should do it" and not "Oh I'll do it this way and break down"

does anyone care about actual ability as opposed to potential?
