I have just been perusing CSC and there have been some disturbing allegations posted regarding the O'hAilpin boys and their attitude. The poster seems to have runs on the board over there and appears not to be just making trouble. Given that they are my faves, I hope the the post is not accurate.

Anyone able to shed any light - Caz; Sticks; River Rat? Any truth in this, any probs with coaching staff.

I mentioned this 2 years back, they don't listen. They think they know what's best for them selves condition wise and preparing. They over due things and don't understand that they not need put in all the extra work as they will break down which has been evident.

lets wait and see, by all reports there attitude has been terrific - has been the least of my worries when compared to the skill level

What these guys need is an attitude adjustment course quicksmart. Maybe a breakthrough in thinking course. Something.

These 2 Irishmen have the goods to play this game; athleticism, aggression, competitiveness, killer instincts...There's just a couple of ingredients missing:

Obvious. Grasping the nuances of the Game.
Breaking news: Knowing who their boss is (and following instructions)

I'm disappointed in reading what I just read. This can be sorted out starting now. I don't want to lose them just when they're almost there; especially to another club. They will get picked up in a blink.

FFS lets help them...get them on track!

If you haven't got either then you become frustrated - when you get frustrated you often get angry and often when you get angry you do not listen


I have been saying it for a long time

There is a lot more to playing football than being athletic and committed

It helps but there is heaps more

Far easier to get a ball player fit than teach fit player ball skills

I'm not giving up on them yet. They must however realise that they have a long way to go regarding footy smarts.

For instance:
Last week Setanta was caught under the ball at the last line and had an opportunity to go back with the flight of the ball and make a statement. Not only did he not punch the ball away from Gehrig but allowed him to take an uncontested mark. He should have pushed back hard and make contact with Gehrig and let him know he was around. Simple thing but something that he is still struggling with.

I'm more concerned about their ability than attitude. Setanta does a few nice things every now and then but on a whole he generally gets beaten well wherever he plays, hope I'm wrong but I don't think he'll make it.

Setanta has already made it.

Unfortunately (b/c i am a big fan) he is not in good form and hasn't played a good game for quite a while.

He was disappointing in some contests against the aints and a run with the Ants might do him some good

Obviously a height issue. They didn't want to go in with Kreuzer, Cloke, Hampson as well as Setanta. Problem I have is that he is probably the best man to tackle Monga. He kicked 6 on Jamison just 6 games ago when he only kicked .

Given Cloke has had a fairdinkum crack over the first two weeks, it woulda been difficult to drop him. Although, I reckon OhAiplin's got a greater future prospect than Cloke.

Anyoop, they're playing Kreuzer at CHF which I also think is odd given it's his first game. Let's hope he bags 5 and sends the wind up the cpmpetition.

I'm a fan of Setanta's and wish all our players had a go like he does and I can see great potential in his brother Aisake....they are a long way from home in a struggling team and I think you would expect some frustration to build. I'm glad someone is showing some attitude and does give a toss whats happening......seeing Santy torment Lloyd is one of the few highlights in a series of dark years and I am shocked to see him out of the team....

Assuming what CSC is true, it's not surprising that both brothers are confused.

We have gone from playing 20th Century footy to playing 21st Century - its hard enough adjusting if you've played the game all your life, but when you haven't, yikes.

I agree with Sydney in regards to frustration.

Perhaps Kouta needs to come down and have a chat with the boys as they obviously respect him very much.

I think you will find that the irish boys, in particular Setanta has busted a gut trying to learn the game and get a game in the seniors.

They train hard, they train after the other players have gone in and they don't drink.

Hardly prima-donnas. I think as has been mentioned, they are frustrated by the changing nature of our game plane as opposed to having a sook, because Aisake hasn't had a game.

All of this is assuming that we suddenly believe in a rumour posted by someone on another site.

When did rumour become fact on TC?
