Kruezer for CHF......more mobile than Cloke and a better kick....
The idea of playing Cloke at FF out of the square and Fev leading up the ground has merit and gets away from the same old same old plan of kick to Fev only....

I reckon it's a brilliant idea. We haven't tried it as a long term project, mainly because we don't have anyone who fits the category. I suppose Cloke is the closest thing, but his thumping kick could be wasted in the role.

Fev isnt big enough to play CHF.

Really?!?

He 6"2' 103kg.
He's plenty big.

There are question marks over Clokes shoulders ... so is CHF his best position?

Who said there are question marks on his shoulders?

Collingwood and his game time after round 7 last year say he has a problem with his shoulders.

Didn't have an operation on his shoulder to fix it?

Hasn't he had more than one to fix it?

If he were to go into CHF, he'll have no energy to ruck after running up and down the field. And so far he's been pretty good in his role, rucking and roving while also plugging holes.

Plus, Robert Walls did say the rucking position is the most important (I tend to believe anything he says), so we'd want to get this right first before thinking about anything else, even the CHF.

If we had better ruck options then absolutely, he's a perfect size for CHF.

Cam Cloke, IMO is a very underrated player. He has a red hot go in every contest.
Could he successfully play at CHF? I believe he could given the opportunity. I like his second and third efforts, which in my view are a vital component in any good forwards arsenal.
Keep the pill in our forward line!!!
I also like the idea of playing Fevola up the ground, Cloke in the goal square, and Fisher floating around.
Cloke is the sort of bloke that can lift a side, and I'm confident he'll be a very good player for us long term.

He's big enough IMHO.

Real issue is that he is nowhere near fit enough for CHF.

already been Tried last year. Not Good Enough. Does not have the Ability to Hold his Position. Can do few nice things, kick one or two goals a game, but has very little influence playing Forward. Think Elsewhere

Are you for real? How many games did he play last year? When did our season really turn to shite last year? Not enough ability?

Also if he kicks one or two a game; what's wrong with that? That's pretty good influence for mine!

Jonathon Brown is 6"3' 102 kg
Wayne Carey was 6"2 97kg
Stephen Kernahan 6"4 102kg

I reiterate my point, he is plenty big.

Also he can kick em from 60 like Lucas and his delivery is great.

FF for Clokester. Big body in the decoy square a la the Pee Train. Do it to the bombers and watch them try to man him up.

He reminds me a bit like Earl Spalding. Doesn't take a hell of a lot of marks. Doens't kick a hell of lot of goals. But he gives at least a contest, and it may help the forward structure in that he can assist the crumbers and fight hard to keep the ball in forward line. Keep the ball in the forward line and you're upping yoru forward pressure etc. etc. We jsut need someone to help out Hampson in the ruck so Cloke can be freed up?

What d'ya think?

Yeah id go with Fev at CHF. Use different blokes out of the square or plonk big cloke in the goalsquare ala rocca and alister lynch. Tell him not to lead to far out. use the space between cloke and fev for fisher and mids to take marks in. Collingwood have been doing this for a couple of years. That is why they score easy and stay in games even though they dont seem to be playing well.

I like the sound of this, At least it's SOMETHING DIFFERENT :!:

We haven't looked like kicking a winning score the way it's set up now. Stop Fev stop Carlton... simple. If Fev doesn't kick 6 plus we dont look like winning a game. Surely to God they cant double/ triple team him further up the ground.

Let's try SOMETHING....... ANYTHING!!!

Would love to see Fev played at CHF.

a) makes double and triple teaming him much more difficult.
b) he is one of the best field kicks in the team, Fev at CHF would improve our delivery into the F50.
c) he will still kick goals, not quite as many, but most of the time he is more comfortable kicking from 50+ metres anyway.

Endurance is his main worry, but even doing it for half a game is better than nothing.
