If Ratten wants him to stay, he stays.

It's Ratten's team and he gets the final say who he wants at his disposal to implement his plans.

Whatever he chooses to do wont stop him from having to take a pay cut at the end of next year. Whether its from us or from any other club willing to take the gamble.

Unless he has a blinder of a season from here on.

I think his manager(if he has one) is trying to get on the front foot.

Swan has made up his mind i reckon.

thats a fair point, I would certainly be reducing his pay, doesn't mean that I don't support him in trying to quit the drink

Swann runs the club. If Swann wants him out, he'll be out (IMHO). Ratts is on a two year contract and wouldn't have that much pull.

One of the reasons Swann left Collingwood was because he was getting too far (in his eyes) away from the footy side of things - he'll be involved in that sort of discussion at Carlton. Look no further than the pressers and other public comment on Fev - everything is from Swann.

Besides all that - Fev has had umpteen chances - the time for turning him around or making allowances is over. The way I see it is he gets with the program and starts producing or it will be time to move on.

If Swann wants to coach he should've applied for the job last year.

The type of stuff that Fev gets involved in, would only be covered by the CEO of the club and not the coach. Except of course if your Eddie McChin.

Is that a deliberately simplistic response Verbs?

Swann will be fielding trade offers from other clubs (or extending bait potantially via Icke) at the end of the season. Swann will be making the decsions on whether Fev will have a negative impact on his ability to sell the brand. Fev and Icke will consult with Ratts on Fev's impact on the list and the kids, but the final decision will rest with Swann.

Swann will be the driving force behind Fev's retention or otherwise.

Honestly what more do you guys want from Fev? He's making an effort. Stop debating about whos decision it is to trade him. He should not be traded. Period. We'll need his goalkicking skills when we're challenging for a premiership in 3 years. How many forwards have kicked 55+ goals for the last four or five years in a row. How many forwards have won a coleman in a wooden spoon side? How many forwards do you think would have kicked what Fev has kicked in our midfield. Anyone calling for Fev to be traded is a disgrace!

Who's calling for him in this thread to be traded BO? I know reading comprehension isn't your strong suit but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.

If we get an offer that is too good to refuse then Fev is gone. Otherwise he isnt leaving the club for nothing. Unless he flowers up of coarse  .

Never say never when it comes to trading last year no one expected Judd to leave his club. And we never wanted to get rid of Kennedy but at the end of the day the offer was too good to refuse.

Either way I don't care if Fev stays or goes no skin of my back.

If he loved the club as much as he says he does he would have shown it the respect it deserves action speak louder then words, on and off the field.

I know for a fact that Ratts doesn't want Fev - he would've traded him last year if he could. He says his hands were tied.

That makes Ratten, Icke, Swann and I reckon Pratt as well. Things are looking dim for Fev.

Swanns response was perfect "proof is in the pudding".

Me thinks Fev is starting to realise his days of earning $500K p.a are coming to a close and if he keeps up as he is he either faces a massive pay cut with us or a trade and similar cut to someone else.

I love Fev as much as anyone but at the moment, his 'potential' is being outweighted by the damage he is doing. His petulant 'wheres my free kcik' stares are not what our young playing group require.

The club is always bigger than the individual.

I think your spot on The Duke.

I cannot see Fevola being retained beyond this season, Pratt just doesn't operate like that.

If Fev turns manages to turn around his life off field, that's admirable.
But, as AIRCAV said he must lose the ''where's my free'' attitude on field.
The bloke is an obvious talent, but I'm becoming increasingly tired of seeing him look to the umpire for a free( which ain't comin') while his teammates are still battling to keep the ball in our forward line.
