I like how the subby used a pic of Bozo and the missus enjoying the champers...

I reckon the grog is more of a symptom than a cause... but good luck to him. Maybe getting off the grog for a while will help him clear the mind for a bit of reflection and, somewhere along the way, he'll find the catalyst for a genuine change.... Crawl before you walk, I suppose.

GO BLUES.

Turn a negative result into a positive.

I think Carey's timing was best thing ever. He is going down the same path and a big wake up call to change.

Fev won't drink during the season, but its the offseason, which is the query.

He didn't drink all year during his Coleman medal year, so he can do it

Go the fev

Ratts says Fev doesn't owe the club/team mates anything - I says he owes them plenty.

Do it Fev, or be remembered as a hasbeen. It's up to Fev to save his career 'cause he's a dead man walking AFAIC.

Lots of support for Fev here who has admitted he has a problem and is trying to do something about it. Way to show your support TC

Quote in HS:

In a major step forward, Fevola has told confidantes he will not drink throughout the football season and not join end-of-season football trips.

It means, at 27, the $500,000-a-season forward is likely to be off alcohol for the next five years.

It does not mean he's likely to be off alcohol for the next five years......it just means he'll be off it during the season. Some of these journo's love to twist words.......

If you read the article properly, Robbo did state that it's not clear whether Fev's 6 week holiday between season end and pre-season covers the ban as well. I think because it't not clear, which is why he left it to read as a 5 year ban.

How does 35k + members go for support? They all support the club and those who respect it.

Some people bitch when he says the right thing and now he is setting about doing the right thing and you still stick the boots in even more. This is a bigger issue than just football for Fev.

But i guess as long as you pay your membership you don't have to be a considerate and compassionate member of the human race - that must have been a couple of hundred $$ well spent. As you say actions speak louder than words

It's funny, isn't it. There has been no word from Fevola, or the Club about this, just an article by Robinson.

Carlton has some strange supporters.

If that's the case and the article was false, then Fev's still a flower-wit.

You can have it which ever way you chose, but until the 27 flowering year old pulls his flowering finger out of his flowering anus - he will attract negative responses.

He should hold a press conference and say he wont drink for 5 years? or have a interview.

The guy is doing alcoholic programmes and obviously if Swanny knows all about it then its come from Fev

Give the guy a break, we all know if he breaks the rules hes gone.
Support him till he breaks it, if he ever does again

Robinson could write an article revealing Fevola to be the second coming of Christ and there would be numerous people itching to put a negative spin on it.

Get it?

What's weird about loving the club and being concerned for its image and being able to focus on winning games?

Some here have a higher tolerance threshfold for people who embarrass the club than others - that's fine. They can trot out any one of the Here's why Fev is so great lines;

He loves kids
He wins games off his own boot
He was our only star in the recent darkness

Great. Times have changed and Swanny has signalled his intent - Fev buys in or Fev moves out.

But give me a spell about questioning my 'support' because I'm sceptical about a bloke who has seen the light yet again, and dragged the club's name through the mud in the meantime, yet again.

Proof's in the pudding and he'll get no gold stars from me until he shows he can be a viable team mate and not a distraction. I hope he gets there, but blind faith in Fev is just that - blind.

Whatever he chooses to do wont stop him from having to take a pay cut at the end of next year. Whether its from us or from any other club willing to take the gamble.

Unless he has a blinder of a season from here on.

I think his manager(if he has one) is trying to get on the front foot.

Swan has made up his mind i reckon.
