Is it just me or is anyone else getting a little worried about "THE CURSE"
Think about our recent BnF winners.
I've taken these from 2000. after 01 when everything started to go down hill for us as a club our best and fairests bar Kouta i guess have been a disaster.

2000 Campo and Ratts
2001 Kouta (ratts went on to be all aus)
2002 Mckernan (kouta injured all year with knee)
2003 McKay (traded mckernan at end of yr after dismall season)
2004 Teague
2005 Kouta (Teague average in 05 played 7 games 06 now gone)
2006 Whitnall (kouta injured with hand..slowly drifting from game)
2007 Carrazo (whitnall delisted at end after horrid year)
2008 ???? ( i know its early but Carrazo hasn't had the best start to the year.......

WHAT IS GOING ON?

Didn't some Aboriginal guy put a curse on Carlton because he wasn't happy about something said by someone at Carlton. I think ever since that,we never been any good, was the curse taken away.

Rambo is right, there was an aboriginal curse placed on Carlton (or PP as the curse is placed on a locality IIRC) some years ago. We have been a rabble ever since.

Maybe its time for an exorcism! Heck nothing else has worked thus far...

I forget about this.

In 1993 Collingwood was branded as racist after the Club’s then President, Alan McAllister, provoked a public furore with this comment.

"As long as they conduct themselves like white people, well, off the field, everyone will admire them and respect them."

Those words brought an Aboriginal curse on Collingwood, paving the way for an AFL code against racial vilification.

Ah the good old days...

It was both actually.

The curse was put on us after something derogatory that Elliot said at a presidents lunch IIRC? It is in the Blue Boys book.

Here it is: http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P1-21455218.html

It was in November 1999.

That was only a couple of months after getting into a Grand Final in the most remarkable circumstances.

Since then it has been one disaster after another.

I don't think he is at all.

He's one of my Fav players but you can't be played in the midfield with those type of poor skills, it's where turnovers cost you the most.

The very knowledgeable Tommi mentioned in another thread to put him down to Back Pocket, which is where he played his first couple of games.

Oh come on Synners...get in touch with your spiritual / esoteric / conspiratorial side. It's fun. It's cooky. Aned let's face it, life is more fun when you're cooky. Just ask Tommi, I saw him at the last meeting.

The only curse I want to talk about or see is the curse of Setanta O, come back and haunt that Neanderthal M.Lloyd.....

We are not spooked losers, let get out there and kick some Bomber butt.....

re: Carrazzo is a fine Indian but we have some better chiefs who need to be getting the ball into their hands more often....a little more handballing to the chiefs and a bit less kicking and Carrazzo can still play an important role...

I reckon we should bring in the guy and tell him to lift the curse and if i was correct it was a while back maybe far back to 2001 or late 1999.
