Players with the natural agression at the ball like Tarczon and 'The Dog' would be reported every second week the way the game is umpired these days... Taczon's hit on McKenna would probably cost him 12 weeks these days...

It seems as if we practised shirtfronts on McKenna throughout the 90's - who can forget Earls hit at Subi in 95 and I also seem to remember Silvagni levelling him a few years later (all legitimate hits I thought)

That is the best hip and shoulder OF ALL TIME.

I defy anyone to find a better one.

Totally agree Deano

Earl turned alot of supporters opinions of him that day. One of my favourite games also.

I was at that game and remember it clearly. It was like watching a car wreck. Everyone could see it coming from a mile away. Everyone except McKenna.

I loved the way Earl levelled McKenna, and then just kept after the ball as if it were an innocous hit.

From what I remember McKenna came back on later in the game but made some error that led to a carlton goal - understandably he probably couldn't recall his name at that stage let alone be in any capacity to make decisions.

Jackovich still talks about that hit....and blames himself for allowing it to happen !

if only Tarczon had of played enough games for father/son, his son is a champion.
