I was under the impression that with the new fitness guy a new post-pagan fitness philosophy was now being applied. Those closer to the club please correct me if I am wrong.

During Pagan times peak fitness was obtained at or around the start of the season.

From what I have read from the club I gather they are following the plan where peak fitness is tapered into the season proper and the peak not obtained until sometime into the season. I'm sure this method is used by other teams.

Not saying this fully acounts for what appears to be weary players on the field. My theory is that poor skills = fatigue, the worse your skills are the more tail you and your teammates have to chase, that fatigues even the fittest guys.

Basically, if the fitness team is doing their job I am expecting the team to have a much more productive second half of the season.

I don't know if this is correct or not but is that what Sydney were doing in their premiership years? I know they would come good later in the season after a slow start...

I think that's what we're doing Pklz, a slow start to the decade aiming for peak fitness around 2010.

Yeah they were peaking for the finals... we will peak for the finals too.. but the season will be over..

Look all this is rubbish...!!!

The game is simpler than that....

It about having able bodied footballers working to a plan and theyre coached well...

At least this year we should still have some run in the later rounds.

I was going to throw in a Laurie Angwin joke but...

Jarz, do you have the stats on the distances covered by the players - GPS. More importanly at what heart rate these distances were covered?

Very true... hopefully we can use this to our advantage against some of the other teams that are behind the 8-ball later in the season. :?:
