sorry but all my thoughts are negative.

we are a long way off, we have so many gaps to fill with our list. We are playing an uncontested negative and slow brand of footy taking more uncontested marks than any other team.

No run off half back, absolutely no run through the middle and no confidence going forward. Hate to say this, 2 rounds in and i think we played and with some structure last year. Nothing has changed, massive scores kicked against us.

Thornton can celebrate 100 possessions but none are damaging. Not all his fault, his team mates just don't run hard enough and create space. We consistently use the wings, you got to get the ball into the corridor. You can see how far off we are when you see juddy running to the right spots but no one acknowledges this.

For me Fev has to play up the ground and Fish deep in the forward line. His opponent Fisher just ran off him and created run through the corridor. This happens week in week out with Fish, he is to slow and hasn't the leg speed to chase his opponent out.

I will say something positive, Murph played well, Stetanta was good but my hat goes off to Waitey. His game tonight was brilliant. The guy has heart, he loves the club and thank god we have him. But its so unfortunate we have to have him play down back cause we needed his spark up forward. I cant see why T-bird, Jammo and Setanta play down back and keep them there. We need waitey up forward.

Russell's first 10 minutes were great - then he was [REDACTED] and became a passenger - what's with that!!!!

Con... Still not enough run and handball. over 2 kicks for every 1 handball. Winning modern day football isn't played like that.

and does Stevo look a little plump?? im pretty sure i seen some love handles hang out the side of his jumper

and get rid of them stupid white jumpers.... we are the old dark navy blues. The white is soft, just like those show pony white boats they accessories those white outfits with. All Houla needed was a set of Pearls and he could partner Jordan Russel to the brownlow.

I @#$%&! hate that jumper!

When we are good (if?)
can we just say to the AFL 'stick it up your @#$%&! arse!'

Whitnall would be faster than Stevens at the moment. Stevens is far from peak fitness which is hurting us.

Pros:

Cloke - easily our best player. and probably our most skilful tonight.
Murph - 2 good games in a row
Betts - actually surprised me tonight with consistent lead ups and marks - one of our few hff winners (unless he was on Saints' fisher who absolutely killed us in the 3rd especially)
Gibbs - apart from 2 oob on full, a solid game otherwise
Pfeiffer - worked his way into the game. he is a gun kick AND is competitive. Already shown that he is more skilled than at least 75% the other guys in the 1s.
Waite - solid game.
Carlos - ok gehrig kicked several but overall thought carlos did reasonably well

Cons:

Playing 4-5 guys massively not fit.
Stevens - he would be dropped in any other team and we should be no different. would have much rathered bentick - at least he busts his gut with what skills he has - same can't be said for stevens (at least with his current match fitness)
carrazzo - not sure what his possessions do for us in positive sense

Not clamping down on their fisher in 3rd qtr.
Huddo and quartermain anti-carlton commentary - sh!thouse

One last thing. Could someone please cut up a tape of Sam Fishers game tonight and hand it to Thornton. This is how he should be played and run the ball out of defense through the corridor and create run. Not chip it here chip it there, chip it to Banno then turn it over.

OK, I need to set something straight.

There are guys on here putting Jordan Russel in the pros - I will bet that every one of you were watching on TV and not at the footy.

He was deplorable. He gets led to the ball, can't contest, and is soft as piss.

When he was on gram it was a field day.

He emulated greats such as Powell Athorn and Livingston tonight.

Agreed. JR was a wasted top 10 pick. Give me Jackson any day

Pros -

waite.
murphy started very well and kept trying.
betts was lively and kicked a great goal.
cloke tried hard.
hamspon got another game under his belt.
pfeiffer showed some grunt. liked the way he tried to give us some run after taking a mark rather than indulging in that chip chip shite.

Cons -

game plan is another cop out. just gives players more reason to transfer responsibility and not take any risks. pagan's game plan allowed players to bomb long as a responsibility transferral, now ratten has managed to keep us mentally soft while looking different.

forward entries / structure. miles away from emulating the well-drilled teams.

team that just can't / wont gut-bust run. doesn't take talent to run, just guts. lack of confidence in our systems can't help. to this effect i reckon gibbs is just cruising.

scotland is a lair and cannot continue like this if we're fair-dinkum.

houlihan was shocking on milne. then went forward and was unlucky in giving away a hands in the back (looked to the side). so what does he do? repeats it again 10 mins later ...

why do we HAVE to play so many underdone guys? surely one or two can find fitness / form in the ants

Con: Riewoldt was still able to have some influence

Pro: Murphy played really well
Con: Just as many fluffed kicks as the were perfect passes

Pro: We kicked 6 goals in the last
Con: There was a few junk time goals in there

Pro: We stuffed a lot of good goal scoring opportunities
Con: So did they

Pro: We play our bitches next week 8)

Russell showed the same tonight as he has shown every other time....

He is not a winner!!!... youre not going to win contests with Russell in your side...

Pfeiffer showed something and should be in the side all the time...
He is hard and direct....

We have too many players that pussy foot around...

Nothing!!!!!!! lets top putting a positive spin on things and call a spade a spade.

Cons
another horrible performance for more than 50% of the game. if we cant play 4 quarters we dont deserve to be in the premier competition in the land.

No-body plays 4 quarters.

Hadley and Judd not looking fit enough to contribut at this stage

Disposal and decision making killing us

Fitness not up to prfessional level

I cant go on its too distressing

while i am not ready to write russell off, i am ready to agree that pfeiffer is a must inclusion. quality kicking, quality aggression. now if we could just transfer a bit of that to stevens...

Pros:

Cloke: Played an absolute blinder after a couple of early errors. Tried his guts out and will benefit from having the Kreuz return next week.

JR: I need to write his report up after i watch the replay again. Looked alot more confident when released up field.

Gibbs and Murphy showed Stevens and Carrazzo how to use the ball, how to win the ball and how to keep your cool.

Bower, Carlos, T-Bird and Waite were very good i thought.

Eddie to be named at CHF next week.

Pfeiffer is about the only player who takes people on.

CONS:

Anything forward of the 50 metre line. I have no idea what happens to us, but we have no structure, we panic, we delivery poorly, we don't chase. It shits me to tears.

Still to slow to move the ball out of defence. We needed Harts tonight to provide that lead up target up the middle.

Brain fades by Hammer and Stevens costing us goals.

Stevens should be made an example of tonight on how not to act on a football field. Disposal was shocking also.

Aaron Hamill special comments on Triple M. Maybe he should listen to his fellow commentators because JR did not play on Sam Fisher, he was on Gram for large portions of the game.

Carrazzo is a couple of games from being dropped. Really struggling disposal wise at present and lacks speed chasing which is hurting us.

Not holding tackles is killing us.

Carazzo to a back pocket (Remember that even Teague and McKernan have won the BF)
Jackson and Pfeiffer in the middle. Gutsy and relatively skilled. Will support Judd in the close contests.
Russell out.....for good
Bannister (see Russell)
I honestly do not believe we are any closer to a finals berth now than we were 6 months ago.......although chronologically, I guess we are but you know what I mean!!!!!
When will this second rate VFA standard football end??????????
AAAAHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

One more thing about tonight's match- like most of you guys, I thought the tackling was deplorable- I've called them Libba tackles (a delicious irony!)- you know, "I never heard a directive to tackle...but I could feel it, if you know what I mean".....
