What a joke.

Booked for Perth with a mate in December to go to Subi and see Juddy's return. Am a Vic based member and called the club a few days ago to see if I can get tickets and was told 'no, have to go through ticketmaster.' On reading the membership kit, I realised the opposite is true..

Held on for 1 hr this morning as soon as it opened with constant engaged dial tones, then for 90 mins now. I finally get through and they say they ran out of tickets 15 minutes ago.

What next? I have to wait until 21st of April to get tickets through ticketmaster? Does anyone know what my chances are of actually getting seats then?

Send a letter to Sir Richard.

Maybe there is a seat for you and your mate on the Pratt Jet. :(

They changed the rules a few days ago to only give tickets to WA members, which I found a bit shit. Reading this thread though I'm glad I only had to wait 20 minutes to get my tickets

not sure exactly when the rules were changed, but i went into the club last week (on thursday before the game) and was given the same responce.
WA members only could get tickets, so even thought i'm a long distance non melbourne based member i still couldn't get tickets.

This will probably piss a few people off and I apologise for that but as a WA member I am stoked that the club has given the preference for tickekts to members based here. This year we get 1 single game to go and watch our beloved Blues as opposed to those of you in Melbourne who are able to see I think it's 18 games live.

Good on the club for looking after us.

As a Melbourne based member I agree WA members should get first go at the tickets.

Managed to organise a couple for my self through a contact so maybe I my opinion would change if I could not go!!!

May 2 bring it on!! :-D

I agree WA members should get first preference.

My problem is it really wasn't communicated succintly to us victorian members. Also, what a waste if, in the likely event, I travel to perth (costs me money on a student budget) all for nothing because I can't go to the footy.

I'll be on ticketmaster website at 8:50 the day tickets come out, that's for sure. Disgrace really that there aren't any seats available for carlton members.

Limited number of tickets available through general admission via ticketmaster. The carlton site is saying that their member (WA based) allocations have sold out.

Grrofunger, are u a WA based carlton member?

Awesome work stormin. We bought a flight to Perth back in October as soon as Juddy was announced in anticipation of this game. Unfortunately we're now not going due to the inability to get tickets. While I'm disappointed, I'm really glad that WA members were given preference & I hope you all scream your guts out for us who couldn't get there.

We'll get to see 18 games in Melb this year & we've now decided to go up to Brisbane for round 21 so we can't really complain!

For those who are going to try and get tickets through ticketmaster, there's a limit of 6 tickets per transaction. Good luck!

AFL members have no rights at Subi. Only option for those going now is to get online on the 21st of April.

Around 3000 tickets will be available but will be snapped up in no time. Good luck to all trying!

E-mailed WA members group with a plea for help. They were very nice about it, but obviously can't really help due to the limited number of seats. Apparently there are 2000 WA based members and 600 seats allocated! He wasn't sure whether or not the 'WA based members only' tickets on 27/3 was actually policed. Anyway, he suggested I try e-bay else ticketmaster is the go on 21/4.

So, it's been confirmed there will be about 3000 seats or thereabouts. Called the afl and ticketmaster, neither of which were helpful but AFL membership say they have nothing to do with Subi. OK, fair enough but then WHO actually allocates seats? The AFL must have something to do with it...

Anyway, I'll be on ticketmaster 21/4 as soon as they come out (apparently 11am melb time). Does anyone have best suggestion of whether I go to an outlet (2 min drive away), telephone or use the internet (which I normally do but it might be busy)? Thanks for the help!

My understanding is that the WA Football Commission leases Subiaco Oval from the City of Subiaco, and as such the WAFC are the ones who allocate the number of General admission tickets available for each match. This is apparently done in consultation with the Eagles or Dockers and depends on their membership, the membership of the team they are playing. As the Eagles have "full membership" there is only ever a maximum of 3000 general admission tickets for any given game.

As for the number of "away member" tickets, I thought that in previous years the club was allocated more than 600 tickets. This year is the first year I have ever had to even wait to get tickets.

There is a new $1.1Bn (will blow out to at least $1.8Bn given the current state of the construction industry and our incompetent Minister for Infrastructure and Planning) stadium being built that will seat 60,000 vs the current Subiaco capacity of around 45,000.

Once this happens both Freo and WCE will be "rebuilding" also so most of their fair weather supporters will drop off and getting a seat will not be a problem.

Not that that is much help for you for May 2nd.
:(
