Has to be a defender.
In order:

1. The Flying Doormat
2. SOS
3. Geoff Southby

Would completely shut down the majority of today's target forwards and I can guarantee not one of them would be caught pissing on any form of public property.

(The likes of Buckley, Johnno etc I am not so sure about)

A modern day version of Southby - hands down..

SoS - sure but he'd have to have a modified game to deal with the crossing the arms rule and just generally modify his style as he'd never get away with as much as he use to.

And then Doull, then probably Jezza in combination with Judd.. One in the centre and one up forward at all times...

Ooooh, that's good Juddy...

Great thread by the way!

Rich

Kenny Hunter or Rhys Just to have some mongrel and drive in the backline and keep the opposition forwards on their toes and ease the pressure on the developing KPP kids

Bradley, Ratten, Brown, Williams, Kouta
Sticks
Madden

If I could only choose one it would be Sticks and make him captain.

I would choose James Hird, as according to Mike Sheehan he was a better player than Alex Jesaulenko  and Bruce Doull

Why stop the James Hird lovefest now that he has retired?

I would pick a ruckman - that is what we need the most - as this piecemeal solution to rucking ...let's put a defender in the ruck is complete and utter crapolla.

There was no finer ruckman in the history of the game than Big Nick. I would choose Big Nick. He would force the opposition off the ground with his laser-like eyes anyway.

In Nicholls
Out - all the freeloaders.

QFT, any one of those blokes would improve our team 100%.

Stephen Kernahan....Tall marking forwards win games and he would make some of our players walk taller.....

If I had another pick I would choose Val Perovic......tough, hostile CHB who would have sorted Buddy Franklin out and had him hiding under the bench wanting his mama to come and take him home.....

yep, but lets not rotate him off the ground every 5 minutes

Dog always had the shits - imagine being the poor bastard trying to tag him when he comes back on the ground after beeing rotated!

Great thread - SOS for mine.

None of us will ever live to see another full back that even comes close to Silvagni - unless of course one of the holy trinity lives up to the family name :-D

SOS is obvious but other great defenders who have leadership qualities as well like Mc kay Doull or Southby.

This time last year I would've said Silvagni without hesitation but ater watching us get smashed in the clearences against the Tiges despite having the better midfield on paper I'm going to have to go with Greg Williams.

Champion player and the greatest inside mid of all time.

If i had the three picks SOS, Dean, and McKay in that order....

I would beef up our backline, the rest would sort itself out without a doubt......

We basically have deficiencies on every line. So here are mine.

B: SOS (no one else even comes close)
HB: Andy Mckay (no better HB has ever played for this club) + Ang (for the run we are lacking)
C: Diesel;Ratts,Fraser Brown (these are the types we lack in the middle)
HF:Dominator; Rice (goal kickers who have defensive skills to keep the ball in our fwd 50)
FF: A sticks type. We've never really had a FF as such and haven't needed one we need a big body who can pull pack marks. Oh and who has brains as well. Of which Fev clearly lacks.
Rucks: Harry Harry Harry
