Hawks won 8 games in 2006. Interestingly, this is about the number of wins most carlton supporters would be happy with this year.

Here was their year:

W22
W32
W1
L22
L40
L75
L65
L21
L96
W41
L70
L10
L36
L10
L45
L53
W23
W18
W20
W51

A good start, followed by a horrible middle where they lost 12 of 13 games by an average of 45 points. Then came good at the end.

I'll bet there were a heap of Hawthorn people tearing their hair out during that huge losing streak... wondering if their misery would ever end... if they'd made the right choice in Clarkson...

The interesting notes are the Hawks won games when the players decided to run at costs, they busted a gut and left nothing to chance. When they were losing the run wasn't there and they played too conservative and too cute.

We have Aisake...and he hasn't played a game yet.

Aisake may be faster if not the same speed and taller. Not a bad foundation to build our Frankenstein Forward.

We need to develop him to play a Buddy type role. I just don't think Aisake will ever be the kick at goal Buddy is. But he'll be as good as a lead up player shielding the ball with his big body. He has speed and is good below the knees.

I hope by this you mean he'll be BETTER than Buddy at kicking for goal

The difference - Buddy has natural footballing talent.
Aisake is just a natural athlete.

As for Thorton... he is of the Whitnall cancer mould.
