Correct me if I'm wrong, but Judd's main job is playing football for the Carlton Football Club.
And it's the first game of the new season, and his first game for the Blues, so he has every right to want to focus solely on the upcoming game.
He is not Dimitrious biatch in other words, or at least I hope he isn't. Geez, the AFL are coming across a bit too much like the mob if you ask me, controlling everyone and everything.
I hope Judd sticks by his guns and refuses the interview, as that will show us just how committed he is to his no.1 priority - the Good Old Navy Blues.
He is also being paid a squillion to promote the club. Whether he likes it or not (not, it seems), he's the new face of Carlton. I am as excited as the next person about Judd running out in our strip but you can't have your cake and eat it. I can understand his reluctance towards having to answer a couple of lame questions from a TV presenter - particularly after having his face and (very measured) words splashed across all spectrums of the media during the offseason - but it is part of the territory.
How many other club captains would refuse an interview on the eve of a new season?
I love the guy and what he has already brought to our club. It is only a small thing but it is not a good look.
But then, I biased.
