If The Filth didnt suspend Didak for being drunk off his nut and hanging out with a crim, why should we suspend Fev for taking a wizz in public.. Why punnish the team ? Everyone uses the Steve Johnson example... That dude was arrested and locked up... Totally different from a tinkle on a shop window... The CCTV footage was only released coz its Fev. There was no police involvement... This is gutter journalism at its best... We should just kick Fev out of the leadership group and move on...

FFS I am sick of all this crap. The media just loves us hey.

At the end of the day, I am Fevs biggest supporter, but he will never ever change. We need to accept this.

I dont believe I as a supporter or the whole team should be punished over this incident.

I for one have especially endured crap over the last 5-6 years at the footy, but the FEV kept me going.

I wish there was something we could do. Maybe the club should get his most passionate suppoters and take them to meet with him to tell him what he means to us and what his actions mean to us.

I for one am very disappointed in this. I come to work everyday and people give me shit. I cannot speak about the footy at work anymore, as I will jump down their throats. This is what all this is doing to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this indiscretion at the end of a season and not 5 days before the first game? In addition I believe this was Gehrig's first significant indiscretion whilst Fev has a long history.

Agros posts would suggest he was out much later than 4am and possibly through till midday the next day

That is disgusting and far worse than what Fevola did!!

How come Patrick Smith hasn't used his journalistic skills to investigate the going-ons of Brendan Fevola?

Instead of calling him the "price-fixer" 30 times in a 100 word article, he could call Brenden the "piss-fixer". It would make just as much sense as most of his other articles.

I think Carlton should ask Patrick Smith what is the best course of action to take, and then do the complete opposite.

Personally, I have had enough of watching 80 plus losses over the last 5 years or whatever. I would like to see a few more victories this year.

Peeing on someones shopfront in full view of staff/customers whislt they are trading and then initiating a push and shove when confronted is a lot more serious than just peeing in public in a discrete location/alley (which is what most people would do).

You think its ok? - How about you go out and demonstrate how normal it is - I'm fairly certain that the reaction you get from the general public will quickly indicate that such behaviour isnt normal and quite unacceptable

4th chicken,

I'm not suggesting it's normal, nor acceptable.

It is indiscrete, innapropriate and very poor form. It is however, only peeing in public.

All I'm suggesting is that some perspective be brought to the matter.

Footy supporters want all players from all clubs to act as role models at all times. Players come from a cross section of society and will behave to different standards depending upon there personality.

If we hold Fev up as a role model for us and our children then perhaps it says more about us and our lack of judgement than we care to acknowledge.

No footage of pissing. Nobody hurt. No police called. Not even scores of witnesses. Fevola was out with his wife, so not out with mates on a bender.

No need for a fine even.

I couldn't give a stuff what other clubs do or what other players have done in the past.

I for one was looking forward to a great start to the season (including no Fev stuff ups) however I just get pissed off when Fev places OUR CLUB in bad light.

Whether he urinated on the window, got into a push and shove with a waiter or whatever I dont care. And saying that we should just put up with his crap is a joke.

I know for a fact our young guys look up to Fev as they do our handful of experienced players however I just hope the one youngster who thinks everything Fev does is pretty cool recognises that he is a clown and is not the role model we would all want him to be. I hope he cops a suspension, he seriously would not take any other penalty seriously.

Play Hartlett and Edwards deep and show Fev that he is not irreplaceable.

Yeah I hear you. I've got 8 mates, half of whom aren't Carlton fans, going to Juddment Day and the emails have been flooding in this morning.

Your point about the price footballers pay injury wise and so on for the benefit of the football commnity is well made...

...but, what society are you living in that pissing on a shop window with patrons inside is a "minor incident"? Okay, compared to some other things his transgression could have been worse, but minor, major, whatever, the fact is what he did was totally unacceptable for any member of society. The fact Fevola has a high profile, and a long list of prior embarrassments, makes it even worse.

Have you read or heard these patrons comments on the matter? Do they even exist?

It's exactly this sort of attitude from people that will ensure it continues to happen, one set of rules for Fev, another set for everyone else.

The thing I used to love about the old carlton was that we used to march to the beat of our own drum. The reason I've had a bit of a swagger in my step of late is that I've been sensing that coming back. Let's not fall into the media set agenda here. The press want to sell papers and advertising space, good on 'em. Nothing says that we have to play their game. Fev is a walking headline for them unfortunately but how the club deals with Fev is neither Hutchy, nor Caro, nor fatpr1ck's business.

As sticks once famously said: "we're Carlton flower the rest". If Geelong wants to suspend Johnstone, great, if melbourne wants to suspend Brock McLean, great fill your boots boys. There should be no persumed precedent there for us. Remeber when mums used to use a spoonfull of cod liver oil for everything from the mumps through to cancer?? Why, because that is what mums do? Didnt cure cancer but what self respecting mum wouldnt give their kid the medicine. Just because the rest of the flock has fallen into this process doesnt mean we have to.

Additionally, I'm a member, pay my $$, vote in the elections, turn up at the games/family days, take the kids to the coaching clinics, bleed in the coffee room at work every monday!! I want everyone at that club bleeding from fingers ground down to bony stubs from superhuman efforts to drag this club kicking and screamikng back from the brink. I want everything and anything that can be done to turn us back into the powerhouse of the competition done without delay.

I could not care less about whether this is acceptable to the media elites and commentators. I want to see Fev kick 8 past a hopeless Richmond!!! I couldnt care less if he took a dump in Caro's coffee mug, I want to see him doing what he is paid to do. Ideally he'd be a great ambassador for the game and role model for little kids too but I've worked out that this probably isnt going to happen, ce' la vie.

Carlton is a footy club with the express goal of winning football games. We like to be good corporate citizens and acknowledge responsibility as role models for kids too, but the main goal is to win games of footy. We are not responsible for social engineering and urinatory (is that a word??) rehabilitation. Get on with it and restore a bit of pride for us all!!

Great post 2nd effort.

And "urinatory" is now a word, can't wait to use it
