We should sue regardless.

Like cr & rp I think it is terrible that Greg Baum's article said we finished on the bottom when we were 15th.
It also said, "Finishing last gave Carlton the prized first pick in the national draft." This is wrong too. The first pick was a Priority Pick for finishing with 16 premiership points or less two seasons in a row.
I expect better from The Age.
IMHO sports journo's are too concerned with running the game to get basic facts right.

The overriding "vibe" I received from Liberatore's interviews in the last couple of days was this:

How the hell did this inarticulate, and seemingly not too bright guy last as an assistant coach at Carlton for so long???? He just sounds like a dumbass.

To sue him would validate his "vibe" and he doesn't deserve that. I just have a feeling he has dug a whole that is going to take some digging to get out of.

Anyone hear Scott Cummings on 3AW last night. He was pretty upset about Libba's allegations. I'll paraphrase a bit. Reckons they are a load of crap. He would never expect a player to give anything but his best. Says that libba is angry with the world esp the football world and has a huge chip on his shoulder. Rex Hunt said this is the biggest football story in 5 years then introduced Mike Sheehan. Cummings had a go at Mike saying that journalists are beating this up with no foundation. he said if it comes down to an integrity contest between Brett ratten and Libba, there is no contest. He was really fired up. go Scotty

Libba, better to be thought of as a flower, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Gatto doesnt barrack for Carlton the ones that did sleep with the fishes already....

Quote:
The high-flying forward knew Gatto, along with Alphonse Gangitano and Mark and Jason Moran, through their fervent support for the Blues.

"You'd meet them as a celebrity footballer, and that's the way they would treat you," Bosustow told the Herald Sun.

Quote:
He recalled the day Read told him he'd "had a problem with Mick Gatto, and Alphonse and Jason as well".

"I said to him that Mick was a one-eyed Carlton supporter, so he asked me to go and speak to Mick for him.

How much would it cost to get it done?

Ah Fatprick's laughable attempts at journalism never cease to entertain me.

1. if he had any sort of journalistic integrity he would have finished the sentence "former brownlow medallist with the Bulldogs" with "who was recently let go by Carlton", so that everyone can make up their own mind about where Libba's credibility stands.

2. in Roos' case, four seperate people overheard Roos instruct a player to not score. That is a specific allegation worthy of investigation. Not worthy of stringing him up over given it was the pre-season and all, but worthy of having a chat to him about.

3. Libba's comments were nothing like the Roos case. They were a heap of unstablitated blubbering what basically amounted to "my vibe was that Carlton tanked the end of last season". And he had to be lead by the journalist to get that much out. News flash, half the football world has that vibe already. You don't have to be an ex-assitant coach of Carlton to arrive at that conclusion. But it's not an allegation.

4. The AFL, quite rightly, asked Libba to make a proper evidence-based allegation or flower off and stop wasting everyone's time.

5. If the same had happened in Roos' case ie, someone had come out and said "I think the Swans tanked their preseason game against the Hawks. I never heard Roos instruct this, and I have no evidence that the players tried to lose, it's just this "feeling" I have" .... then the AFL would have, presumably, given the non-allegation as short as shrift as it gave Libba's comments.

If Libba's comments had been about, say, Essendon*, and didn't validate his own prejudices, Fatprick would be pointing all of the above out I'm sure. Moron.

He can invent until the cows come home but if there is no proof, he is gawn.

He reiterarated on SEN that he had nothing new to divulge.

The meeting on Tuesday will take all of 3 minutes. TOPS.

Please God let the AFL abolish priority picks starting from this year and go with the lottery system.

How funny would it be if Richmond finish last and our name comes out of the hat for the no.1 pick??

Yeah i'm not worried about it. If its he said- he said, ratten would destroy him in credibility.

My feeling is he will pull out of the meeting

Ask Matty Knights, came off the field with a face full of blood, the scumb*g Libba scratched, bit, kicked, any other dirty trick in the book, he was up for it.
PLEASE PLEASE DICK PRATT SUE THE PANTS OFF THIS DIRTY *&^%

Libba is having a tough time of it lately. He's bagged his former club for no apparent reason, made an allegation that has no evidence moreso opinionated, that turned into a media frenzy cause journos are having a slow footy news day.

On top of all this Libba has separated from his mrs - does he need to see his shrink? I would have to think so

Wangers, if the guy shrinks any more, he'll be like Rick Moranis.

If he brought in a recorded conversation they would probably take it and burn it. They are turning a blind eye to this because if any (even us) club is seen to have been throwing games it will make the competition (which they run) into a farce. Nothing will come of this.
