No point taking it to court. Dont want these allegations aired in a court of law. Move on. Forget the tiny man.

Swann's a smooth operator. I think he'll know exactly how to get Libba to crap his pants and spill the beans just with the threat alone, without actually going to court.

Do you have any Tony Liberatore dartboards left, Sedat??

How stupid is the guy. Not only won't he get an AFL job, after he gets the flick from Sunbury, no surburban club would go anywhere near him.

The sad thing is that Smorgon fiercely defended Libba like he was his only son during the aftermath of the Knights-Libba scandal in 2001. The club, led by Smorgo, always backed Libba to the hilt after every one of his tribunal investigations from Paul Kelly in 1997 to Knights in 2001. He was then given a rousing send-off when he retired a year later. What did we get in return - a grubby superannuation claim the minute he retires, followed by bad-mouthing when overlooked for much better credentialed coaching candidates.

Now you might understand why Smorgo went so hard against Libba a few weeks ago when he tried to discredit our club in public without any substance and with little more than unsubstantiated heresay and fabrication.

Libba's legacy as a player who got absolutely maximum output out of what God gave him has now been eroded beyond repair. And he only has himself to blame. Libba is filth.

She is a Carlton hating Hawthorn supporter. Always full of sheit. SEN loes these stories and is always anti-Carlton.

No draft = No tanking.

It's pretty simple really.

No draft = No hope for some of the 16 clubs soon to be 18.

No hope means no club.

Clubs go missing means less money for TV rights.

Less money means etc. etc. etc.

Salary cap and draft must stay.

Priority pick is the tank carrott and needs to go.

You really can't get more simple than that.

He's also just made a stack of journos look like flowers  . Fatprick, Carro and Hutchy at the top of the list.

I just thought I'd put this in the correct thread as Biffin seems to want to talk about Carlton all the time!

Maybe he's Melbourne's version of our great Melvey??

Mil Hanna let me answer your question - Has anyone on the coaching panel mentioned, even in a "jocular" way, actually made a statement that we were trying to lose? No.

well actually yes, listen to libba's interview.

Evidence of tanking. Let me see. How about not letting a player within 3 km of Travis Johnstone in the game of shame. Of course why would you want to man him up or shut him down as Travis has shown he loves it physical and playing someone on him to shut him down would always prove futile. In the end it was only 42 possesions, in a year of sh1teness for Travis as well.

Assistant coach jokingly say 'tanks very much', players are not prepared as well for matches towards the end of the season.

Is that enough for you.
I think your press conference is at noon.

I expect the press conference to be like 99% of press conferences, say nothing and bore everyone.

Have some balls and do an interview with Hutchy yourselves Carlton. Won't happen as they will be burnt to a crisp.

Carlton will be preparing the mother of all 'political' statements, trying not to flower this up.

Here is my serious guess at what will be said.

"We categorically deny Tony Libratore's allegations that Brett Ratten and the coaching staff would deliberately try to lose any football match carlton plays in".

"These are Tony's opinions and we refute any such suggestion Carlton would prepare to lose an AFL match"

Keep these on hand and compare if you will.

Be nice if they could answer the specific examples Libba gives.

I could write that for them as well - "We refute Tony's allegations a fellow coach said jokingly 'tanks very much' as he has a speech impediment. In regards to the last round, and not letting a player within 3 km of Travis Johnstone, we refute this also, as Travis has shown he loves it physical and playing someone on him to shut him down would always prove futile. In the end it was only 42 possesions"

""As for not putting in as much effort to prepare the players, we were very tired and sleepy at that time".

I reckon Derryn Hinch should host the press conference.

This is worse than the M&Ms debacle, whole club is losing all respectability.

Me thinks that ol Biff should have a listen to the press conference just quietly. Travis Jonstone had 41 possessions and wasn't tagged in that game. Well, Heath Scotland had 39 possessions also playing loose man in defence in that very same game.

Why didn't the Dees man him up hey Biff? :garthp:

They did not need to man up on Scotland they won and they were well in front from the first minute of the game. Tell me why they should have manned up on Scotland when they were 6 goals up after the first quarter? I'm interested.

When that silly woman Rita was asked if there should be a Royal Commission she replied with a sheepish 'no'.

She suggests we were tanking because most of the supporters at the Melb game were cheering their team to lose.

The sensible jock suggetsed that is not tanking it's an opinion.

The big question the sensible jock would have asked is "Why are you coming out with this Libba?". he suggested that is something Hutchy should have asked.

It's a non event.

It was suggested that Libba has buried himself of a senior coaching role, the other suggested he really didn't have a future there anyway.

Apparently we let Jonathon Brown kick 10 goals, 14 marks in R16 - Why didn't we put SOS on him

This minor detail was but a footnote of course :garthp:

He also forgot to ammend his claim that Jamison was no longer on the list, which opposes his allegation slightly when the 'inexperienced kid' who was thrown up against the big forwards will still be lining up against those blokes rnd 1.

SOS was helping St Frankston tank!!

With all these tanks, surely the club could of provided discounted petrol to members?

Didn't one of our players (Scotland maybe?) rack up similar stats to Johnstone in that last game in our back half?
