Guys, you should have been smarter aabout concealing it. Instead of giving Brett ratten the gig for the last 6 games, you should have given the job on an interim basis to Peter "onwards and upwards" Rohde - you wouldn't have gotten within 60 points of any team, let alone 6 points, even with Kouta circa 2000 in your team.

Libba :shakes head:. The new Arthur Tunstall of football. Every half-wit journo will now go to dial-a-quote to get a poorly constructed headline grab.

Libba's photo will adourn the corrodors of Princes Park alongside Stephen O'Reilly's. What a stupid, bitter fool

Do you have any Tony Liberatore dartboards left, Sedat??

How stupid is the guy. Not only won't he get an AFL job, after he gets the flick from Sunbury, no surburban club would go anywhere near him.

It's time some smart little prick taking a pot shot at our club got sat on his arse.

Libba is the ideal candidate.

Lets put this case in the hands of Mick Gato and The Carlton Crew to take care off... Libba will be 'sleeping with the fishes' pretty soon....

Libba is burning his bridges Box Hill, Bulldogs, and now us. What a miserable, back stabbing little pri*k.

Swanny:
- Emphatic denial by Swanny
- Mentioned drubbings prior to Ratts starting, multiple thumpings, Pagan sacked.
- Mandate was to play the kids and review the list. Kids were going to play in key positions.
- Most kids who were played will play Round 1.
- Team picked on giving experience.
- All of this was made public last year.
- Swanny spoke to Andy D about possible investigation this morning. Club happy if the AFL want to send someone down to the club.

Ratts:

- Taped Port Adelaide game in coaches box. Welcome to hear it.
- Tape had lots of Flowers
- Brett's recovery took 3 weeks longer than expected (lucky for club they put him in early)

Question Time:

- Ridiculous claim by Libba.
- Hampson case in point. Flogged against North, but then flogged Jeff White. Approached MC and told them he was pumped for next season.
- Again re-iterates all kids got the change except Jake, all had to learn the game plan, change of style etc.
- Pointed out Travis Johnstone had 15+ clangers in his posessions, Scotland was considerably less.
- Legal action will be looked at. Club not happy!!!
- Focus on winning against Richmond. Move on.......
- Priority picks are a massive bonus, all club coaches agree on this.
- Play kids and list management is what it was about.
- Walkers surgeon told him he didn't need an operation and continued playing. Had two operations since.
- Fev had fifty billion operations.
- No point is Carlton sending around the same players coping thumpings mid year. Worst team clearly in the league at that time. Charter changed as mentioned earlier.
- Some players might of been in better form, but its about looking at the kids for this year.
- Never a suggestion that you cannot win.
- Bought up the Eagles playing Chris Judd injured while trying to make finals, should of been operated on.
- Ratts said to players in Round 22 to win. Some kids have only sang the song a handfull of times across many years.
- Ratts raised Kangaroos injury management two years ago again as to what benefit there is to get players operated on earlier than season end.
- Ratts raised Hammer's enthusiasm generated from playing two games.
- Libba was paid out, left on normal terms.
- No players welfare was ever going to be put at risk, hence Fev taken off against Collingwood due to tight quad

Great announcement so far...here's some of the comments for those who didn't hear the announcement:

Carlton make no apologies for giving Hampson a shot at senior footy in the last 2 weeks.

Rd 21 he didn't get a touch the ball against the 2 seasoned giant ruckmen of the Kangas, but they chose to give him another go

Rd 2 Hampson against Jeff White, got a truckload of taps and took some towering marks.

After that game, Hampson stated that this is what he wants to do. He has had a massive preseason and has been selected as 1st ruck every game he's played.

That's not tanking...that's development. We are a better team for it.

Objective was to play the kids. It was announced. Some players needed operations, others, like Walker continued on doctors advice.

Fev had 6 operations after the season.

It's a disgrace to say that players got operations that didn't need them.

Clearly the worst team 6 weeks out. Our % said it all. 100pt thrashings. Bring on different things, Murphy tagging, Gibbs in the middle etc etc we reduced the losing margin to 30 pts.

With kids playing we were a better group. If we continued the same old, this club would have been decimated.

There was never a suggestion of tanking.

It's not good for the game having Judd playing in the second half, but WCE were playing for finals, we on the other hand looked towards the future. Period.

Not an issue here. We were upfront at the time and we make no aplology.

Lets move on and concentrate on the first round.

Ratts told the team he wanted to win every game....to sing the song. Simmo didn't sing the song in 65 games.

Ratts...

fix up the boys and we can bounce back like the kangas did.

I wasn't going to play players who didn't have a big say in our future. We needed to know more about our players, to see what they've got...have a look at Hampson after 2 games of footy.

Libbas left after 5 years...no animosity...don't understand why this.

We have nothing to hide and we move on.

Fev had finger, shoulder groin... and against the Woods his quad could have ripped and Ratts didn't want to play a player in danger of serious injury..expecially a 100 goal player...we took him off for a minute. Fev told us his quad was really tight.

Greg Swan
Kerna
Ratts

Ian Coutts

SEN jock asked the question to the other SEN jock after the interview:

Are Carlton cheats?

Answer

NO!

Then he had a dig at Pratt cheating doesn't bode well with that answer....

Response from other jock...nah, nothing to do with it.

Outcome? We're squeaky clean and did well to improve our performance in the last 6 weeks given the list we had

GO ALL US BLUEBAGGERS!!!

I wouldn't. If the AFL takes no action, or looks into it and the Club is cleared, just let it go. We've had enough bullshit, enough legal action, enough politics for a lifetime.

If we have no case to answer from the AFL, we'd be silly to keep the issue alive in any way.

Legal action or not, Libba now has a reputation he will have to live with for the rest of his days.

BTW...thanks to all for your reports on the presser, muchos appreciated.

What I like most about the idea of legal action is that when forced to put up or shut up, that Libba will spill the beans on the tactics Hutchison used to make more inflamatory comments come out of his mouth, the money he was paid etc.

Hutchison is the architect here, that can't be disputed.

Libba has a rep for being arrogant, egotistical, and aloof. A dirty player and an ordinary human being. No other club will touch him now.

What a great response from the club. Swanny again shows his worth.

This will be buried in 24 hours, and I can't see the AFL investigating.

Liberatore is officially dead in the AFL and good riddance to him. A very small man in every way. I'm conflicted between treating Liberatore like the sideshow he is and ignoring it, and squashing him like a mosquito and suing him for everything he is worth. I'm leaning towards the latter.

If I have taken one thing out of this whole episode, it is further confirmation our club is in very capable hands.

I want Kerry O'Brien to cross-examine this little man. See how he handles himself in front of a REAL journo.

Libba is a flower of the highest order for the simple reason he doesn't have one fact to back up his claim. Not ONE.
Hutchison & Channel Ed should also be taken to court for "NOT" gathering all the facts before going to air. Admitted after the fact what was said by Libba was untrue. Hutchinson & Channel Ed are just as much to blame!

I hope we do our due diligence (legally) but again it's not ideal timing with the season about to start next week. We don't need this.
I hope the "Pratt Pack" go for it however and felt really sorry for Juddy last night as well. Real low Channel Ed.

This minor detail was but a footnote of course :garthp:
