Hutchy did the housework after the interview and pointed out the statements Libba made were infact untrue. Maybe Libba tanked the interview?

There's a simple way to stop tanking talk.

Remove the draft altogether and allow clubs to recruit their own kids as they see fit.

No draft = No tanking.

It's pretty simple really.

I pissed myself when he said all that. It basically pulled down the entire interview. All he had after that was that someone once said "tanks alot"

Libba is a DOG! What an absolute disgrace of a man, he is now officially unemployable as a coach.

Lets hope we crush that little man in the media conference at 12 today

Can everyone please refrain from swearing or directing insults at Liberatore. Remember we have young kids contributing to this site.

Did you know that Liberatore comes from the Latin "Libra" - which means insert *edited* into female *edited* - which whilst being about small enough to serve this purpose is about all Liberatore is good enough for these days.

I'm hoping to hear threats of action for defamation, request for a full media apology and retraction, and possible action relating to confidentiality agreement (surely we must have had one with the tuuuuuuuuurdky).

MCG - Round 22 - 2001 was the birth place of tanking. Scum v richmond which ninthmond won.

Hird was removed from the ground at the 15 min mark of the last while scum were down by 15 points.

After the match Hird said it was a discipline thing, sheedy said it was because the game was beyond reach(get your stories straight boys). It ensured the scum didn't have to play their bogey team in the first round of the finals - TANK!

It was born in 1999 when Fremantle came up against Geelong in round 22. If they won they wouldn't have got the picks which secured them Hasleby and Pavlich

North Melbourne in 2006 put Shagga and Simmo in for surgery, but North didn't divulge what was wrong with one of the players. Just that it was best to put them in for surgery and get them ready for season 2007.

Collingwood in 2005 3 goals up against North Melbourne with a few minutes remaining somehow got beaten. Coincidentally in the week leading up to the game Chris Tarrant had scans on his knee and the club decided to book him in for surgery.

Hawthorn in 2005 7 goals up at one stage against Richmond in the Round 21 game, yet, just like Collingwood they ended up losing. Where was the outcry? Why weren't there any calls then for their picks to be taken off them?

I guess you can always count on people bashing Carlton; the problem is that many of these are Filth and Hawthorn supporters.

And why was Libba approached about the story? Eddie wouldn't be interested in getting some 'dirt' on Carlton would he? He must still be VERY bitter about what happened. Swann executed the plan perfectly at Collingwood in 2005 and did the same last year with us; yet Swann was able to lure JUDD to the club Eddie hates most. I know it hurts Eddie for you to miss out on JUDD with Swann a key factor in the deal but you have to get over it

And Magpies full-forward Chris Tarrant may be in line for season-ending surgery, depending on the result of a knee scan tomorrow.

It is alright for Tarrant to have season ending surgery isn't it KB but not ok for Thornton and Fevola.
Tarrant's last game for season 2005 was the week before the uber tank against North Melbourne

Quote:
Dean Laidley has foreshadowed a radical change in how the Kangaroos approach their pre-season training programme with Shannon Grant, Adam Simpson and Daniel Pratt all set to undergo season-ending surgery in order to be ready for an early October return to Arden St.

"One or two guys probably played their last games of the year today, but we'll have a look at that a little bit more closely (during the week)," he said.

"Simmo more than likely, Shannon we'll have to wait and see, we don't know how long his rehabilitation time is and until we actually see our specialist during the week, that'll determine when he finishes playing."

The Kangaroos' coach would not divulge the nature of the players' respective injuries, but did describe Simpson's issues as "wear and tear on other parts of his body" and not the foot injury that has bothered the skipper this season.

Where was the outcry. "wear and tear" It's ok for Simmo and Shagga but not for Thornton or Fevola

Quote:
It is round 22, 1999 and Fremantle has won just five games for the season. It faced Geelong at Kardinia Park in its final game and, under AFL rules, teams that win five games or fewer for the season, get a priority draft pick.

.......

The Dockers started playing inspired football. Watching their attack on the ball they appeared intent solely on winning. Some looked as though they were playing for a spot on next year's list, and by half-time the Dockers led by nine points.

........

The Cats kicked the last 11 goals of the game to blow Fremantle away and win by 51 points.

.........

Tony Modra, Stephen O'Reilly, Dale Kickett, Peter Mann and Clem Michael were all out of that match with injury.

Drum played a young line-up. Seven of his team had played less than 15 games.

One person who was in the Fremantle coach's box that day, refused to comment. But that refusal, the fact he referred to it as "the Hasleby game" and a third viewing of Geelong's 11-goal-in-a-row finish, does make a person wonder.

I wonder if Dwayne will have a crack at us tonight on 3AW. The article above shows this has been a problem since 1999 but it hasn't stopped the imbeciles out there from having a crack at Carlton.

Quote:
In light of former Hawthorn coach Ken Judge's recent allegations that club director Don Scott suggested to him that losing was good for draft advantage, the pressure is on the AFL to revisit the can of worms its system opens every year.

Quick! Royal Commission into Hawthorn!
