Heading to the Victory game last night I noticed that Carlton had a season launch on Central Pier at Docklands. Did anyone attend or have any feedback on the night? I tell you what, there were some handy sorts turning up!!! 8)
I was walking behind Ackland and saw him heading to the sheds on Central Pier and saw the file of people in their finest heading that way so I walked by for a closer look

Didn’t hear much about it leading up to it

The sponsorship guernsey presentation was on prior to the season launch. I'm sure a report will be coming soon. We also have the jumpers to raffle off.

The launch went quite well I thought. The stage was decorated with the old VFL premiership pennants. Brought a tear to the eye. Everyone was in good spirits and looking forward to the first game. I don't think I've ever seen Ratts smile so much!

Have to admit that one good thing about the new website is the calender thingy...Red circle means there is a club function on, Blue square is the game. Hover over the date with the mouse and it tells you what's on.

So Mrc C...heard it was going to be the jumper presentation and an excuse for the young lasses to frock up! Great to hear it was a fun night!

I'll post a report tonight. Right now I wan't to use my hand as minimal as possible after I shook the hands of the master and his apprentice (Pratt and Judd).

Judd had taken Pratt under his wing and teaching him how to become the best at centre clearances? How does this fit in with our youth policy?

Ok so what happened last night?

Hmmm, arrived early after working in the City all day. First to the venue, followed by players a few minutes later. So picture this Mjonc and 30+ players surrounding him

First person to walk past was Scotland who said hello, then Ando asked where the dunny was  . Had a good chat to Ando before I told him I didn't know where it was . Message to you rumour mongers, get your facts rights before you make up crap!!!

So a few more player sponsors arrived, players one side, player sponsors the other side . I ended up finding our man Bower, I'd met him last year so thankfully he remembered me, or maybe he was being nice :?, anyway just had a bit of idle chat, didn't talk much about football to be honest. Great kid PB, shy and humble.

Well i was surrounded by players again as Tim Lane walked between my legs (shorter than i though) up on stage. I thought i better move right about now, or do i take all the jumpers and sneak past the crowd

I spotted the TC clan and waited until PB was called up for the photo session with the jumper that wasn't signed!!! I did get it signed later though.

We moved onto the main event and sat with PB and JW, alot of soccer talk and frequent score checks on the Victory, TrueBlueBrad didn't want to know the basketball scores, not that you could find them anywhere anyway :?

I think Juddy must of organised the menu as the food, although tasty, was very modern day footballer, PB wasn't allowed seconds  and had to take the skin of his chicken  not sure who told him that?

All players were on the waters and mingling at there tables, in between I scooted around to meet a few of them, young Ellard and Shields are both impressive, both looking forward to the year ahead at the Bullants, Ellard keen to impress for the Nominated Rookie spot early on.

Had a brief chat with Carrazzo, long chat with JR about a few things, JR signed my poster "Mjonc Number 1 Support Of" then signed it, so Mrs Caz your next in line, even if he did sit at your table

Went to chat with my man Gav and was talking up Jamo, "boy this kid will be good, 2009 All Australian" i said  , Gav told me not to give him a big head  , I ended up with Jamo's signature also. He is a solid unit i tell you.

So moving on after collecting my boys signatures in JR and Jamo I thought lets have a chat to Juddy and Richard Pratt. I basically told Pratt how much i appreciated his input into the Carlton revival and RP replied along the lines of look around, we hadn't had a season launch like this in a long time. After RP I said a quick hello to Juddy and had the photo op, I think i jumped in front of someone else, I'm sure they got over it

The night was a great success IMO. Hughesy was a funny man as he usually is, the band sucked although right down the Cazzes ally.

The players all left on the bus, just as I was talking to Hammer and Sammy.

PB wanted a new photo on the site, but we forgot to get the photos of the boys together before they left. :(

One last point. Some posters on this site who want to get online and post unsubstantiated rumours, think twice about who actually reads the site and what impact this has on players/player families. Think before you post as you cause more trouble than it's worth.

You're a legend mj, thanks heaps for the report.

I might have to have a quiet word in Caz's ear next year and see if I can get along to one of these shindigs. :P

I think you need to concentrate on updating Paul's photo  Although he said he'd visited the site once so I have a feeling he may have been talking about the old pic we had of him.

:) I emailed it to a few friends and one of the directors at work with the title 'Look who's been hanging with The Man'.

Two of them replied along the lines of it looks like Chris Judd has been hanging out with the man

Observations thru BLUE coloured glasses!!

Relationship between Ratten and player group "in general: is excellent. Respect and genuine interest.
Players "relieved" with new management style
Players are growing up. Last year was like a year 12 function. Now grown men.
players very responsive to requests for autographs and photos.
Sticks still a very imposing figure.
Steanta has not lost 15or 10kgs about 5(his choice)
Judd is genuine
if you get invited to a function at "Peninsula"... GO
JO Bailey is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a pity her better half doesn't spend as much time at the club.
