Having seen the Walker incident on telly last night there was little to it.
Pretty obvious he wasnt quite ready for a full on game. To say it was bad luck is crap.
If he had waited to play a little later he would have been ok.
Consequently his year is pretty much over. 12 weeks and he will be behind the ball.
I personally would say give this year the arse and get it right for 09. Dont forget he played with a bad shoulder for a few games last year. This wouldnt have helped.
Shoulders take time to get right. Most players play with injuries. If they dont get their body in the wrong positions its ok and everyone looks like smarties. When you get it wrong as with the case of Walker everyone looks stupid.
Thanks Dr. your insight has been very helpful.

Now Cazzesman I respect your views and obviously your an insider and I am an outsider and I wont comment on Hampson and co in respect to injury management but in the case of Walker's shoulder problems the club has clearly [REDACTED] up.
Go back to the Hawthorn game last year when Walker who happened to be one of our best players that night was classified as injured with a dislocated shoulder In fact he dislocated it twice during the game
Apparently he wasnt operated on then. He played later in the year. Dont know how many games .Aint a doctor either but bloody stupid . For playing a few meaningless games Walker had the operation post season.
Had he not played those last few games he would have had an extra 3 months to get it right with September and October non football months for our club.
I went to training in mid January and Walker couldnt raise his shoulder above head level without obvious pain.
This could have possibly been avoided if he hadnt played the last few games in 07 and had the op after the Hawthorn game. Why did he play then? To me that is a no brainer .We wernt going to play finals were we.
He obviously has come back too early . The incident was an ordinary tackle that happens all the time. Walker is extremly driven but should of been told that he wasnt playing the rest of 07 and he might have 2 good shoulders now.
Ratten obvously sees Walker as an important cog in the machine. Because of poor injury management Walker is definitely out for half the year and probably should sit out the whole year and get it right for the first training session in November.
Maybe Walker should talk to Judd who now admits that he should have been smarter and not played the second half of 07 with his dodgy groin.
