Thanks for the update DOA. Chin up AW, and all the best for a quick and successful recovery.

I thought that Walker would be a big improver this year and move toward the A-grade status. Terrible news. I really still hope that he can become an A-grade player one day - I think he has it in him. Hopefully in 2009-10-11 he will ascend.

We are unfortunately learning the art of patience at Carlton - we never used to need it :(

@#$%&! it. We just can't catch a @#$%&! break can we?

But I guess on the plus side he'll have more time to spend with his new baby. Even though it's far more likely he'll be working ten times as hard as normal to get back.

He also has a baby he wont be able to pick up for 12 weeks

very shattering

pass on our thoughts DOA

Don't worry, he'll be able to pick up bubs sooner rather than later :)
A lot of the time in recovering from injuries like this involves staying away from highly strenuous activity which is unavoidable in contact sports such as AFL. It will only effect his basic daily functions for a short time.

I wish Andrew all the best for a speedy recovery but If I may ask one question?

If Andrew had of had shoulder surgery earlier last year, when the season was already dead, rather than waiting for season end, would this have lessened the possibility of this happening?

I didn't get the impression that the club were adverse to getting blokes sorted out injury-wise before the season was out. I think things like this just happen, but it's a sad setback for Walks and sad for everyone who enjoys watching him play.

If he can be back by mid-year that's not the worst thing to happen. Another 10 or so rounds with 3 Brownlow votes each round and he can easily win Charlie.

Go for it son!

How absurd is this comment?

The bloke had a comment, if you do not like it, do not respond. Is this some sort of dictatorship?

@#$%&!!

It's a good thing we aren't playing for a Flag this year.

I know Walker is an auto selection for our premiership team, so he's pencilled in.

On the positive side of the ledger, perhaps some players may realise this is their opportunity to give themselves a chance at picking up that pencil.

Get well soon Walks, we'll miss you. Take your time and be patient...for the time being....back to that tyre again....yeah I know it's not made of leather...it's not forever.

Another one. Just sheep.

Who considers the relevancy of a comment? Web sites are built on topical issues, rumor and innuendo.

You guys defeat the purpose sometimes.
