I think Italian_Styles took a few shoots.

Got a great shot of Minson wacking Waite in the face.

A bit distant, but better than nothing. (taken from underneath the coaches box on the wing)

I thought murphy had the ball and was reported for the fend off...but my eyesight is fading....

judd superb, either getting the hard ball or receiving the hand ball. hardly missed a target and one clearance in the third quarter was a beuaty and set up a shot on goal. Our midfiled looks very strong. No hacks in this lot:

Judd
Stevens
Simpson
Scotland
Murphy
Gibbs
Carazzo
Hadley
Houlihan
Grigg (tho willl play mainly HBF)
Jackson (as tagger)
Pfieffer

I thought T-Bird was good in the second half and a few of our attacks started with him.

Did anyone notice the triangle formation of the forwards similar to the Hawks. It was Jake in the square and Fev and Harts around the 30 metre mark on the flanks.

A few real good passages of play from the boys.

IMHO we will get better as the season goes on 8)

Thanks for the photos Rhys.

Geez that ground and those stands look BEAUTIFUL against the blue sky backdrop.

It'll be sad to see the stand go. I'll have to get there with my boys to see it one more time in the next few weeks...oh the memories.

Thanks for the reports guys. Fantastic. I'm thrilled.

On AW :( Please let him rise like the Phoenix in 2008. Please. Please come back soon. He obviously wasn't ready for the rigours of senior footy...or could it have happened to anyone?

It doesn't seem as though Thornton is on a good roll atm. Mmmmmm. Maybe something to do with the match up? The game plan? The effort? The ability?

So let me get this right. In the backline we had Jamison (FB), Thornton (BP), Waite (CHB) and Bower (HBF) as the bigmen (with Bower replacing an underdone Setanta). Was it Grigg and Scotland playing the smaller roles? Who was BP?

Great day for the Bluebagger Brethren.

I think Hahn went to pick the ball up and Murphy came in with his hip and got him in the head; didn't look good.

Bower was very good, getting better every game; he closes in on his opponent very quickly. He was making better decisions today, but like the team still made some mistakes in the midfield in terms of overusing the ball, but I'm confident Ratten will improve our decision making in this area.

Was also there up until 3-quarter time when I had to leave due to something else being on.

I reckon we had much better of the Bulldogs but just couldn't convert on the score board. Way too many behinds.

Wasn't focused so much on the game as the individuals this time round.

Saw the Murphy report, it was basically what Josh Kennedy did to him 2 weeks ago against Hawthorn if anyone remembers. Hahn's head over the ball and he banged into him. It was a big pack around so he might get off on that charge.

Thought Kreuzer was close to BOG, absolutely went everywhere specially in the first. Moving around, cutting leads like a ruckman should. Has a huge tank so was really happy with him. Needs to work on his kicking a little bit but even that is fine around the ground, more so the goal kicking needs a bit of work. Missed one after a holding the ball decision (nice tackle) from almost directly in front, though was about 40 m out. But all in all, a great day's work.

JUDDY could've (should've) had 3 goals! Late in the first when Fev got the ball from a spill in front of goal about 40 out, handpassed to Judd who snapped a goal. The whole stand erupted (brought back memories of the old days) but the umpired signalled the quarter was over. Was spewing. Then again was 20 metres clear in the 3rd but the umpire brought it back for tripping. Then of course, the goal he did get, huge cheer again.

Thought he was good, not anything too exceptional but of course that'll come with time. Worked himself into the game after a slow start and was very close to a few of those 'Judd-moments' but alas a solid effort.

Thought apart from that, Waite looked good with his rebounds and taking on players.

Carrazzo is a ball-magnet (like we didn't know) and had a good hit out.

Murphy worked himself in to the game as well but still gives the impression that he's not going all out. Still has those odd absolute howlers. Hopefully that improves with time when the real season starts.

Gibbs I think is easily the best kick in our side. So much poise and delivery. Good effort from him.

Fev was ok, Edwards was good and Jamison was excellent also.

That's all I can remember. Sure I've overlooked someone but if you want, ask away.

Thornton during the first half was following R Murphy around which meant at times he was on the wing. Bower was on Welsh, Waite on Minson.

Forgot to add that Waite took an absolute screamer right in front of us. Fev also on the other side and Murphy took a nice little speccie too. Maybe Smorgo was on to something 8)

Good to see/hear the crowd cheered for Judd's first couple of touches in a Carlton jumper, i wish i was there.

Did the crowd cheered every time Judd got a possession during the rest of the game??

T Bird was on Welsch early. He smashed us. T-Bird got led too the footy, way to often.

The signs were not good, again.

Welsch had 3 goals very early.

Thanks Rhys - brings a tear to a distant eye.

I like to call it the conspiracy theory.

They AFL were never going to allow us to redevelop PP in the communist utopia.

Imagine a state of the art suburban ground with state of the art facilities but only being to watch on in horror as we kick home to the "HEATLEY END"

In the immortal words of Metallica "Kill 'em All" and not forgetting Sticks "Flower the Rest"

Get well Walks and please get off Murph as I cant wait to get to Melb in a few weeks to watch us "Tame the Pussies".

Thornton definately was outmarked by Welsh early in the game, it was right in front of where i was sitting. I think Welsh had two when he was moved. Had a shocker early but his 2nd half was pretty good and provided a lot of drive off half back.

Judd, how good is it too see him in the Navy Blue.

I am worried about T-Bird. He got smashed again. Jammo is ahead of him already.

All positive news then - other than Walker's injury and murph's report.

As much as I like his passion and endeavour, Eddie Betts is a real worry. As Jack Dyer might say, he's where the ball aint. His kicking is simply not up to afl standard. I hope he proves me wrong but he just looked b grade today
