I think this game is very important to organise our forward and defensive structures for round 1. IMO i think we still haven't got any closer to working out what are our best options are for both the key forward and defensive posts.

I think that Ratts plan was to play every player in the pre season comp to give those that feel theyt haven't been given a chance when they were due some confidence that this will not happen under Ratts.

Sorting out who will play where is what season 2008 is all about. I think that the Ratts will use this year as a platform to settle the side into some regular positions and if someone is not performing in that position after a decent go, then someone else will be given a go. This is important because we haven't really done this with our list and are suffering for it.

I think that Waite will be given a post up forward and perhaps Carlos too, this will give Fev some support and having 2 tall athletic forwards will put opposition defences under great pressure.
Bower, Grigg, Jamison or even Sake could build a defensive unit lead by Hoops, Scotland and Thornton. It will be a bit of hit and miss, but whoever we pick must be played together for most of the season regardless of the outcomes. They must learn each others strength and weaknesses and be supportive of each other.
The only expectation I have of this season is that by the end of it, we will know who will be our FB, CHB, Ruckman and CHF.
Oh and I hope that Betts along with others are made to earn their spots, because with all the things I didn't like about Pagan, the one that grates me the most is that as poor as we were, we had to many walk up start players that didn't earn their spots and guys that should have been given a go weren't, DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN RATTS.

Seeing as Ratts has said aite will be our CHB for the year, I can't see him spending too much time up front unless there is a major rething at the 11th hour and 59th minute by him.
Also, Having Houlihan in the back half is not using him as best we can. I think most of us agree that he should play wing/fwd/midfield before playing anywhere near the backline.

Now with Fisher out, surely Rats will be forgiven to change his mind and play Waite in his rightful place at Centre Half Forward.

I think it will come back and haunt him if he plays Waite in the back line for most part of the Season.

I don't care where Waite plays aslong as he is in that same spot week in week out. Commit to one and stick to it!!
Very hard for him and the players around him to settle.

I thought Waite actually played his best football last season when he started in defence and moved forward. Similar I guess to Adam Hunter.

I just called the membership dept, if you're still waiting for your membership card you can goto one of the tents outside the ground and they'll give you a ticket.

I have a bunch of senior managers coming down from Sydney tomorrow

...but I am holding out hope that they will stay true to form and get a 4:30 flight back so I can take my SJL (Statutory Judd Leave) :-D

Just rang the club and also noticed an Ad in today's Hun that car parking on the outside grounds WILL be available. A very sensible decision.

Can't wait to see the Juddster finally in action.

 Yep, I'm having a JDO, too. .

I've had a few obstacles placed in my way, but I've fought through them and all is looking good now.

Oh - that's a good one...I might use it! Fortunately my office looks down Elizabeth St toward Royal Parade and i'll be on the number 19 tram by the time 4pm swings around.

As tempting as it is to sit in the Heatley Stand - i think i might position myself behind the interchange bench and get a better insight into our coach, the boys' fitness and might even bark a few encouraging words to the best bald player I've seen run around in navy blue since Mil Hanna.

had a funny conversation with her last night:

me: "here's the footy fixture, you better put Carltons games in your diary"

her: "I've already done that, you're not going to every game you know" (we've recently had a baby)

me: "I know that, just the ones I want to go to"
