He'd be in a lot of supercoach teams because of his price. Hope he's okay.

I'm a long time reader fourth time poster in this forum.

I know that this topic has been addressed time and time again and many of us have mixed thoughts but i'm keen to see what us fans think of Carlton tanking for the rest of the season to ensure we get the PP this season (picks 1 and 2).

I'm very excited with our list and see a bright future but cant help but hope that we do finish last with 4 wins or less so that we get the first 2 picks in the draft. Our list is going to be impressive...imagine having the best 2 players from Australia in this years draft added to our squad. We definitely need a long term ruckman and maybe the answer is Kreuzer (along with Hampson)?

Winning is important for the club, members, sponsors and importantly, our youngsters but i would be more than happy for our young kids to be blooded this season and us finish last with less than 4 wins with some 15 very gallant defeats by less than 15 points.

Many of you will disagree with me but i'm thinking about the long term future of the club. We will be a force for the next 10 years with picks 1 and 2 from this years draft. This will be our last chance in many years to qualify for a PP so i think we should take it.

I will be devastated if we end up winning 6 games for the year finishing in 13th/14th place. We already made that mistake a few years back when we won 10 games and ended up with Jordan Russell as our first pick missing out on the likes of Deledio, Griffin and Franklin.

Only took him another ten months to talk shit about tanking.

He started the tank thread last year and from what Ive read never has anything positive to say.

Make up your own minds about his real intentions.

Or...maybe he is trying to illustrate how far behind we are for talent using Stevens being out of the team as an example.

Not that i advocate tanking. Or the way GAVRO went about it.... :?

i have seen the Worst of all AFL clubs, yet i have never come to understand why Calrton Fans are so obseesed with Their Reliable sources, what they know and whom they know and so on...

i mean is it a Big deal if we were a close friend to a player or know someone close at the Club?

For God's sake, the Majority of us are involved with the club in one way or another, if we wanted to spread rumors or things that we have heared or seen at the club about many people, the List will be Endless.

Stevens is FINE apart from the Sorness which is normal UNTIL the Carlton Footy Club comes out and officially States otherwise.

I think if anyone bothers to ring Carlton communications people they'll deny any problem with Stevens outright now..

They can't do that if there's even a scaric of truth to it so i'm happy now.

What would you expect them to say, at this stage, if there was some real concern?

You are not a bad poster... you are a great poster.... just an inaccurate one.

I think the reliable sources on TC have squashed the rumour but it would also be common sense rather than panic to be cautious with Nick Stevens health. I would be surprised if the club were not monitoring his neck by having it scanned in a routine fashion and would view it as normal practice...

I feel we need to have a register to somehow show the strike rate of posters who have made claims gathered from their "very reliable source".

Although this is an open forum, I feel we still need some sort of measure to discourage posters from just posting unsubstantiated rumours. The integrity of this site needs to be preserved or else we will just become another bigooty.com.au.

It will ensure this site is cemented as a true Blues supporter site with accurate and up-to-date information that isn't compromised by selected few who decide to post any little rumour they hear.

Not having a go at anyone here but personally, I got the fright of my life when I saw this thread. If the thread comes true, then kudos to the poster and he/she can be recognised as having true inside info. But if not, then a lot of angst would have been caused for no reason.

I'm exsing...and that's my take (yewwwwww...did I just sound like KB??? Geez...it's like I just pissed down my back and said it's raining...wtf??? Now I sound like DP!!! ).

Everyone needs to make their own decision on who they trust with information here. For most that will be a trust earned over a long period of time.

Personally, there are only two posters from who that kind of post would have had me really worried and another half dozen or so who I would have been nervous.

Thats not to say I completely dismissed it, but would have needed to hear it from a few more people before I started stressing over it.

Thats still not to say we're out of the woods yet either.

My understanding is that Nick will be fine. I also believe that he was a bit upset about this rumour starting.

It's false, and we can put it to bed.
